Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
Unfortunately even the ones in Ahn'Qiraj have had diets since Cataclysm. This doesn't mean any guarantees, but perhaps the appearance of so many sandreavers in different parts of Draenor and the lack of new pet families so far could mean a Sandreaver family in the future...?

Ah ok. Wasn't sure.
I don't know if they're technically silithids or not, but they could easily be placed in the silithid family along with kuchongs. Would be the easiest route, I'd think... Would just be awesome to get them at all.

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
I love how diverse the silithid family has become. I have a good feeling about the sandravers. Maybe not something we will get right off the bat but the revived use of the model is encouraging. I hope to one day see kuchongs as well but that one may take a little more (polite) prodding and waiting on our part before they are added.
I don't have any doubts about the new birds and snakes. I swear i recall reading a positive response concerning the pythons just before they became tameable and blizz is well aware of how many players want them. The birds just make sense since they already have a family to be placed in and their bc counterparts can already be tamed. I will remain cautiously optimistic on the ji-kun style birds but I wont make any plans just yet.
I wont hold my breath on centipedes though. unless they can properly reposition the head and lengthen the legs I think they would look really weird as a full body model that can scuttle along with its belly to the ground. And if it used the standard half-upright position that worms use it would just become a jormungar with extra spikes. =/
(also i cast my vote on a storm crow spirit beast! there I said it.)

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
Added two more colours of Dread Raven to the OP. These have been added for the new "Dread Raven Warbirds" models, which have armour, but lack a saddle. But the skins were also added to the folder that contains the unarmoured model, meaning they would well appear as wild beasts! They look pretty impressive. Here they are, next to the original:

Note that Jeremy tweeted some time ago that they're unlikely to be tameable, so we're including them in the "less likely" section. Sometimes decisions change

You are missing a toucan model in your list. The blue one in the 4th pic
Edit: On closer inspection...it looks like mine is the black one with Toucan Sam model's wings
Edit 2: Actually...all 3 toucans in this set are the black model body. One with Green model wings, one with red. They are all the same mob: Jungle Axebeak.

That thing... I think that's what Elvis looked like on his death bed.
As for the toucans, thanks for pointing it out! It has me wondering, though. In WMV it always shows them with the black body (I had to trick it to show the other coloured bodies). This is an annoying bug that happens when model skins are configured a certain way but it has me wondering if the in-game ones are bugged or if they're deliberately mixing and matching wings and bodies.

Things don't seem to grow up pretty around here.

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
I still remember them promising to add some "cute" pets for us when they took away the bear cub in Wrath beta. :/
...still waiting. v_v That baby hippo would be so amazing as a pet if they shrunk it. xD

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
Hmm, I hope they do throw in a few Toucans that are mix and match, like moths are. I'd kill for a red-bodied toucan with blue wings, for example! And judging by how they're currently bugged, it seems like it wouldn't be too hard to do.

I've got to agree. Don't see why we can't have even more variety; variety is always good.
Loving these mismatched toucans... Picked up the black & green one myself. But of course I hope we get those in the main post as well; they're too lovely to not have in game.

Why is this so cute to me?

Kunchong for hunter pets!
Thanks to Moonlost for the awesome avatar!
Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
Yeah, some of the toucans with mixed wings don't look out of place at all!
Question, though: are there any toucans with a *body* colour that isn't the black one? That's the one the model is being forced to always show in WMV. You can change the wings easily. That'll suggest pretty quickly whether it's a bug or not.
