We've had a lot of undead pets in the past, and we've tamed experimented beasts before "Chimaeron" for example. Perhaps we can tame them as dogs? Since they don't have fire or two heads. After all, Gluth is considered "The plague-dog of Naxxramas" And it gives non-BM hunters a chance to have the corehound skeleton.

Re: Stitched Corehounds suggestion
I consider them too undead to be tameable by hunters. Raised by DKs, maybe. But beasts? No. They're not alive.

Re: Stitched Corehounds suggestion
Well, you can argue that.. except we have demon hounds, undead hawks, and tons of ghost pets.. which are about as "dead" as you can get.
Not to mention plenty of diseased animals that look near death, with their ribs showing and seeping wounds all over their bodies.
I doubt we'll get these corehounds, but Blizzard could hardly use "they're undead" as an excuse considering the above.
Would be neat for an undead hunter, that's for sure.

Agreed, plus we tame "spirit" beasts too, don't think it can get more undead than that!
Although, I always thought these would make great Leatherworker mounts.

Re: Stitched Corehounds suggestion
From what I understand, "spirit beasts" aren't meant to be undead. They're not supposed to be ghosts of dead animals, they're spiritly creatures, slightly out of this world. Our very first one was the mate of a beastly demigod.
The eagles are a bit different. The reason I was told was that they aren't dead, just very sick. Since they have mummy bandages very obviously draping off them I found that a little hard to swallow, unless they'd actually escaped from a local veterinary hospital, but there ya go... officially they aren't meant to be dead. :/
The Gluth model is quite obviously not a "very sick" beast, but a stitched-together amalgam of flesh and bones that looks like a weird dog. Hell, the flesh may not even be animal flesh, it could be made out of Lordaeron peasants. I felt the same way about Chimaeron, which is a rearranged bunch of dragon parts.
But another part of me accepts that if something thinks and acts like a beast, then perhaps it can be tamed like one, no matter its origin. Maybe a skeletal raptor could be tamed if it still thinks and acts like a raptor. If so, it might make a cool specialty to do something like that. Maybe it's something that could be learned from a faction or quest, or maybe it would make a cool cross-class thing where a DK can create an expensive tome or item that teaches/enables a hunter to tame undead beasts. Just a thought.
