Dawn of the Blessing OOC

Should we allow three typings for a pokemon? (IE Fire/Grass/Flying)

No. We've always had it at two, let's keep it. Besides, it might get OP.

Yes. Change is good, it gives a wider variety. It won't be that bad.

Going to attempt to get a little more sleep, attempt being the key word here. In case a miracle happens and I manage to somehow drop off for a lengthy period of time, I'll be giving Azu permission to pilot Harrier for a bit so that I'm not holding anything up.

You're welcome, and I hope you'll get to feeling better soon, Senna.

Currently writing up apps for my two Yveltal characters, and then I'll be adding them to my tab on the spreadsheet. *eyes her growing list of RP characters, smiles, and shakes her head* I swear, they're like potato chips, you just can't stop.

Bwahaha, yeah, I know how you feel. XD I have such a HUGE list of Pokemon OCs, the already stupid amount of them I have in this barely even comes close to all of them.

the comparison to potato chips made me laugh a little too much, by the way XD

So…um…I'm a little intimidated by the amount I have to read x.x Can someone give me a summary? I'll get around to reading it later, but I'd like to catch up on my posting first (I've read most of Johto, all except everything that's been going on in the Northern forest. Unova on the other hand…I stopped when Vanilla showed up)

Also, have a good rest Moon and get well soon Senna

OKAY HERE WE GO

Johto Thread:

Baaaaasically Ghost and the Emissary decide to go back to camp. Solara and Foresight stay behind with Trick and Sphinx and Catharsis and Asher, like planned. Sol begins talking to the refugees, and between her and Foresight, they're beginning to think Ghost walked into a trap. Several people from Sol's past do show up at the tower, namely Jaws/Chomp/Kyuu/Iron and the big group decides to hunt down the Blessing.

It turns out, nope, everything is a-okay. Asher joins the Blessing, the Ekleipsis group all sort of return in defeat. It's there that Catharsis reveals no, the Blessing are shady bastards and they're beginning to plan. Meanwhile, the Blessing Camp has been completely ripped apart by its own people on purpose in order to frame the Ekleipsis group and mutant species over all.

MEANWHILE, Venin and Phantom have been leading a group of several pokemon to the tower. Phantom gets jumped by a scary big badass named Ridley, Ridley flees, Venin and Phantom make friends with what TK called the Kalos Troupe, but essentially that small group is going to the tower.

Unova:

I'll admit I've been fuzzier here.

Essentially everyone has been converging on the house. The Blessing intend to attack it. The escaped pokemon follow Terrakion/GTM/Mattie back to the house eventually, and for all of five minutes everything is actually a-okay. Up until the point, you know, where the Blessing DO attack. They had a bit of an early warning thanks to Marina, a linoone that can turn invisible due to her Dark Delta type, and Bellflower, a sub-species shaymin that evolves due to Spitebloom.

I'm sure there's individual character antics going on that I don't know, but that's basically the general big thing in the Unova thread, I'll let other people add in important bits.

actually no seriously can we not set the house on fire please

i know this sounds really stupid and whiny and unreasonable but for some reason it's making me sort of freak out???i'm really sorry i'm like the worst roleplayer ever because that's the logical course of action when there's fire types and a house but i just have issues with housefires sometimes and just... akksldksl

I'm with Senna on this. As someone who's lost a house to a fire a few years ago (the house I grew up in and it was on my birthday of all days), thinking about it has been making me feel ill to my stomach.

Ah, my apologies, I was unaware that house fires were a trigger for anybody. I'd be happy enough to redact that and possibly get Azu to edit that out of her last post.

Alas this does somewhat put a crinkle in my plans with Harrier. Part of her plans were to essentially trap a number of people in the house, while causing additional stress for those fighting outside knowing that their home and their loved ones were in danger. I'd like to keep that aspect of the whole thing if at all possible.
How if we... instead start to bury the house. Harrier flies out the other window, finds some ground types (or any pokemon who knows Earthquake really) and gets them to make a sinkhole underneath the place. Easier for anyone inside to escape out, although there's that obvious danger of being buried under a lot of dirt. Maybe they'll need to climb to a few of the upper levels in order to make the escape. The house itself and it's possessions remain in-tact mostly, with maybe a few rooms full of dirt if it's allowed to be significantly submerged. (So long as we ignore real life where such a thing would cause a lot of structural damage, but I'm happy enough to play fantasy sink the house)

Sometimes... I hate having an actual home base in RPs. It's always in danger, after we put so much work into it. The ground floors would be completely unrecoverable, unless we turned it into a basement. Agh.....

Alright, I'll edit things out and just have Harrier bust out.

I mean, that's sort of the nature of a homebase and you can always hand wave repairs later. I know that's what we do whenever we have our HQ in GW2 destroyed. (Trust me, that poor building has taken all sorts of grief, between the main office being lit on fire and that door being ruined eighteen million times.)

I think the spirit of it Moon wants to preserve though--essentially putting a bunch of people in a bad situation that causes others to have to help them out and cause scattering/distraction/ruining semblance of security issues as opposed to just straight up combat (and let's face it, the Blessing losing because the good guys must win scenario, etc. etc.)

To.. Be perfectly honest, I.. I think I'd rather avoid the house getting destroyed in some way completely? I KNOW it's realistic for it to happen and all that, but.. I dunno.

I know this probably sounds incredibly whiny and stupid and I really hate to mess with what you're trying to do with Harrier, Moon, and like I said, it's realistic for something bad to happen and it should, but.. I don't know. House fires are a huge issue for me, but I think I have issues with houses being harmed in some way or another in general. (For example, a few years back, a house down the street from me had a tree fall on it and destroy part of it, and pretty much ever since then I'm TERRIFIED every time it's really really windy here, because I'm worried a tree is going to fall on my house.)

I'm really, really sorry for this. I know I'm being stupid and whiny and unreasonable and childish and I'm really sorry for it. I just.. I don't even know why this is such a big deal for me, but it is.

Who says that the burying of the house must be permanent? Once they get the time, they grab a few friends who are either earth types, or have earth-type moves, and use that to push the house back up? (Once again ignoring the fact that the foundations would be just wrecked in real life. Fantasy pokemon house is just so awesome and weirdly constructed that it ignores real life physics and engineering)
Obviously it'd be an undertaking and they'd need a lot of time and energy to do it, but hey. That just gives them further incentive to fight and reclaim the trust of the town and kick the asses of the Blessing. They want to get their house back dangnabbit.

I don't want to destroy the house at this point, let me make that clear. I just want to make it... unavailable for a while, I guess is the best way to put it. Really raise the stakes for the Unova group without having to brutally murder or maim/kidnap/torture someone.

If it's really not going to be a cool thing and there's no way to make this work, I'm happy to let the matter drop entirely. I'd rather happy roleplaying friends over feeling smug about an awesome plan I thought up.

Yeah, I see where Moon is coming from, but I understand if it's a sensitive issue, then we can just not do it. I'm sure we can find some other way of trying to raise the stakes without destruction of property or dropping into the cliches of kidnapping/murder/whatever, especially with the number of children characters we have around. I'm sure we can all brainstorm up something together that would work well.

I mean already I can imagine they're concerned about the area--it's definitely not safe, so they have to do something. Ideally this attack with actually get people to start looking out against the Blessing, and the upcoming thing I have planned in the Unova thread will help as well I think.

None of my characters at the very least is.... GOOD at Ground type moves, at least. (GTM just makes the ground shake, that'll just force it further underground.) Just saying. I mean, is ANY of our characters ground type? Terrakion's rock type, not even ground.

I'm sure there's something we can do to make everything hectic.... (Without doing damage to the house) I'll brainstorm with a friend of mine while Im at her house.

THat's what the whole hand-waving thing is for. But regardless, yes, we can probably come up with something else to make the characters realize this is personal and they need to act and raise the stakes beyond "gee those guys tried to attack us to get to their escaped hybrids how weird"
