Is this for real?? What issue are they talking about. I'm currently waiting to speak w/a GM cause seeing something like this out of the blue gets me all sorts of nervous.

I'd be very suspicious.

That sounds like a fake. Not only is it fishy that they'er giving you free boosts, but I'm pretty cs@blizzard.com isn't legit. They not only signed it off weird, but I'm pretty sure anything automated like that from Blizz is noreply@blizzard.com. I filled in a ticket the other day for something and that email you have looks very little like the automated one I got in reply saying what happened. If you haven't contacted them about anything, it's a scam. /shrug

When it doubt, go to Bnet. DO NOT click the link in the email, go there yourself manually. See if anything matches up that they say should (free game time, boosts, whatever). But that's definitely looking like a scam.

I verify any email from "Blizzard" by going to the site (via my fav links, never click a link in the email!) and check account settings and/or transaction history for any gifted game time of character boosts. If there are none, then this email is a scam, but if there are, then...YAY?

If you did not make a ticket on an issue, then it's a scam of some sort.

In the meantime while waiting on your ticket, if you do check your account and there are free character boosts, I still would not touch them without confirming with GM in-game that they are legitimate. And I would want to know what was the issue in the first place? They should have the original ticket information if one was opened, or you can check your battlenet account to see if there was a ticket, as ticket information should be available there.

I try to avoid clicking on links from emails in general, unless I specifically asked someone to send me something. Even if I know the email is most likely legit (i.e. I place an order online, they reply with UPS shipping info. Rather than click the link, I will go to UPS's site myself and copy paste the tracking number).

This email IS for real!! :shock: I did finally get a GM who confirmed that due to three of my toons going missing when Nesingwary merged with Vek'nilash (several player's toons completely disappeared or were made unplayable also) these were given to me. So the "inconvenience" etc that may have caused they put those freebies on both my accounts since both were effected. The toons of mine in question were finally restored several weeks after the merger and I hadn't really touched them since because they were still acting glitchy. I'd no clue this was something they were still working on.

All I can say is ................. :hug: for this unexpected gift.

But it is confirmed the email is valid and was truly sent by Blizzard.

Edit: I had no active tickets on my account which was part of the freakout and why the email made me so nervous.

Wow, that's really unexpected... wasn't that a while back? Kinda funny that they'd suddenly pop in out of nowhere and say, "Here's some compensation!"

Glad it wasn't a hack attempt or anything bad like that. Always better to be safe than sorry. Enjoy your boosts!

lol I had to actually call them to get my account fixed in the "Vekingwary" debacle, my main was one of 8 of my toons that were missing. I want a boost to 90 D: lol

Wow o.O I have seen some really disappointing Gm serves this past week involving stolen gm items and hacked accounts so its really nice to see them going out of their way to help someone this time. I'm really surprised, I never heard of them doing something quite like this before. very cool.

Yeah it was quite a while ago hence my my like " :? WTF" reaction to it.

My suspicion is that I got two because because both my accounts had missing and glitched toons.

I am beyond appreciative of their gifts. I was really WoW-ed (pun intended yuk yuk yuk :lol: ) by it.

You should have heard the barrage of OH MY GOSH's and THANK YOU's that came out of my mouth when he confirmed it was for real.

usualy if its not from noreply@blizzard.com. i usualy delete it. i get alot.. like really.. alot and 99% of them are hacker/scams. they been after my account since vanilla :lol:

so you got 2 90 boosts? thats nice of them. XD
