Possible new mounts in WoD

I think if the chromatic became a meta reward it would have to be different from 12-B to keep the snowflakes happy so maybe if they used armour like on the azure or runes that would be ok? I always wanted my own Gyph from UBRS and it pains me the raid it comes from isn't soloable for me yet

I like the idea thematically, "Captain Planet style, by your aspects combined, I am Chromatic Planeterrrr... Drake?" But the only current unused chromatic themed mount would be the Chromatic Rylak, but then that's not really a drake.

I'm not sure how creating a new meta for an unexisting mount that would then have to be created would help solve the green drakes plight of implementation, but a cool idea none the less.

Regarding the paining of 12-B soloable for you, you could always just buy it off the BMAH when it pops up? Or come WoD, I'm sure you'll have no problem soloing it then, it should be cake!

At this point in time, the Chromatic Drake is already in game and available now from Ultrixon. I very Highly doubt they will give it another source (Other than the BMAH) as they have never really done that with any mount before.

Well, it wouldn't make as much sense as another chromatic drake, but we could get an Infinite drake instead? For collecting said number of classic drakes (or one from each flight). Always loved them, and they would be an epic addition to the drakes we have now.

And yes Ultraxion will be an easy solo in WoD. Getting him to drop the mount is the harder part. My partner and I kill him so fast now that we only get 1 hour of twilight nowadays.

Sadly I don't think they actual never made a mount version of them (unlike the green) so they would have to go back and make/edit a skin file for it. (unless they just let us ride a saddless one?)

But if they did decide to make a new rideable infinite drake... something in the same style as this model.....? /drool

Come Draenor, I'm sure we could solo Elegon, or at least 2 man him. I like the idea of the emerald drake being an achievement for having other drakes too. Am I the only one who'd like an Amoured emerald drake? Or just an armoured drake period? That'd be a good 250 mount reward. Update the drake model and give someone an armoured albino drake

I've still gotta start farming Alystrazor actually. I know what to do, things just get messy with the trash before. It's just my gear, so I hit LFR. And from the second I got into the raid, I wanted to kill everyone in that same raid!

There is these ones already which are Classic Drakes with armor, so if they did do another armored version they would have to make sure they were dissimilar enough not to take from them being retired arena rewards, but then there is the Azure drake that has armor painted directly onto the skin, which looks pretty good considering

Yeah I'm already trying to plan out what level of gear I'd need to 2-man farm Elegon (getting to him would also be an issue). He's already been soloed by DKs (due to a glitch which let them bypass enrage, I believe?) so I'm hoping by mid-WoD I can add him to my list of mount farms. It's not so far fetched when you consider Nalak can already be soloed (I've 2-manned Nalak without help from the NPC guards) and I've also seen someone solo Galleon to mid-80%... and those bosses are meant for 25-40 players.

Alysrazor trash is surprisingly easy if you know the trick. The two giant birds spew out fire which hurts their targets, even the eggs or each other. Just stand/run close to the eggs and stuff and the giant birds will do a lot of the damage for you.

I never thought of using the birds to burn the egg piles, thanks I'll make sure to remember that one.

Gods, YES, PLEASE.

My hunter still has her collection of Halaa tokens from when I was first trying to get those mounts. People just stopped going to that zone after Cata-I could never get them. I so hope this is a thing that stays!

I don't even remember which mission ended up giving them to me, but I looked in my bag after finishing some missions (on a pre-made) and suddenly I had 100 laying there, lol. Havent seen any more missions with them as a reward though (or the research tokens), so maybe the mission itself is a bit uncommon. Still, pretty cool if it does in fact stay.

However, I believe you are right, there are/is quests that rewards you these, I'm not sure when or where, but I recall reading they reward you quite a lot, like enough to buy a mount straight up. (I really need to try and find where I read it)
These tokens however can only be used to purchase the old versions of the Talbuks, they are not linked to the new versions.

Oh for the love of-guess who spent a good two three hours slaying and being slain for one of these mounts? And I then realise if I'd waited then I could've saved myself the...well. You've still got the farming of the powder to see to, so it's not all bad.

Nah. I don't mind that they're doing this. It means you'll see more people on the mounts but other than that there's no skin off my nose there is mounted combat in Nagrand, I think, as you can summon a Talbuk and kill things while kiting them on a a fancy Talbuk. This includes looting, and you have full control of your pet by the looks of things. It shares the same skin as the Dark Talbuk, and is the older model. Just FYI for those who would like mounted combat

That's great to hear. We spent ages grinding it as a group during LK because it became almost impossible to farm the legit. way once BC ended and everyone abandoned Outland. It seems they're recognizing this.
