Don't worry, people have been doing the research! Many private investigators and media reps have had interviews with the witnesses. The police shot Mike for no reason whatsoever- and lied.

Now anyone who tries to call the police gets called (and I'm quoting) a "black monkey" or gets laughed at and hung up on.

I just- I was so disillusioned to think that this kind of thing wasn't possible here.

(Aaand have a link storm! Sorry that it's all Tumblr- unfortunately, social media sources are just what you're gunna get for now, because as mentioned, the media is being denied entrance.
Trying to call the police, Girl that got shot by police + police response, Reporters that got arrested for reporting, summery of what's up, police efforts to keep media away. Not even half of it, but it's a start.

Least Hamas and Iraq keep agreeing for cease fires, even if sometimes someone attacks the other prematurely anyways. Hopefully that will simmer down in the coming months. ISIS is still a threat that needs to be cut out ASAP.

Erm I think you're abit confused - Its Hamas V Israel (not Iraq). And Isis V Iraq. Hell Iraq needs a better freakin army - if it wasn't for the Kurds having a decent force in its own territory and the US bombing a few convoys to obliteration then the whole country would be overrun by now.

My rant: The Media. Just I can't believe any of it anymore. For example I was present at the announcement of a new rail line in my city and what the budget was. 2.2b. It was stated that included contingency money and it would be done for alot less anyway BUT that was the money that had been allocated to the project. Fair enough right? WRONG. The media in the room hearing the same words i did reported it as "already overbudget" what! Thats not what was said! So just to give a story a negative slant you make shit up? Seriously. That made me so angry.

And then was the interview with Baby Gammy's parents. The point was to give their side of this already confusing as fuck story of a thai surrogate abandoned with a disabled baby cause supposedly the parents didnt want him. The parents said otherwise. This was the most horrendous interview to watch. Not just because of the sad story but the journalist was like a dog with a bone. The father has a bad history - he was jailed for having relations with 2 13yr olds. He admitted he did a shit thing and went through counselling blah blah. But she went on and on and on about it. She even asked "did you take the girl so you could molest her later" just wat. The guy said over and over he'd never hurt his children (he already has 3 by another marriage) but because she went on and on he ended up in tears. In the end I really didn't know what to think.

So yeah F U media!

Don't even get me started on media/news. I can't remember what the documentary was, but I watched a video in AP Gov that was about media bias. Basically what it ended up saying was if you want reliable news... go to the Daily Show. Because it's actually more informative and correct than non-satire news shows. The Daily Show writers were, rightfully, horrified at this news, but understood why it was.

The news is, at this point, all about ratings and views. That's why some channels are allowed to be 100% bias and twisted facts.

I agree, the satire sites usually seem to have better info than the purported "real news". Even if it's not hot button, they still get everything wrong.... like the barrage of 'OMG GLUTEN ALLERGIES DON'T EXIST' headlines that happened awhile back... when that isn't at ALL what the research said (what the paper actually discussed was the fact that the mechanism for certain grain-related allergies was different than other types of allergy triggers). They confuse food allergies with celiac disease, and basically approach science with the comprehension of an ADHD 10 year old.

Lately, some of the best writing I've found has been on -Cracked-.

I actually refuse to watch the news on TV anymore. At least on the internet I can scrape around and usually compile something that's more or less accurate by comparing sources. TV news is basically OMG OMG BEES -all the time-. It's worthless. National news I mean. Local news actually has the potential to be useful depending on the topic. At least it isn't usually GROSSLY wrong.

Hell yesterday I saw one of those "this is not cute it's animal abuse" things about fish keeping and going "these fish are breathing at the surface because the water quality is bad, It's not cute or neat!" and it was to a blog about Gouramis and their cousins Bettas. You know fish that do breathe at the surface. Like it's got jack to do with water quality! My tanks water is really good and my Gouramis do that.

I have to feel sorry for people who are cops. These things always make people shit on all of them. I'm sure not every cop im America is a rascist asshole. But i'm sure Tumblr will be full of posts saying they are in a few days *sigh*

OMG yes!! I mean some can be douche bags but normally they just want to do their job like everyone else. One post was like "Police record us when we are pulled over for being a <dickhead hoon on the road> why can't I shove an iphone in their face?" Because gee does someone come into your workplace and shove their phone camera in your face? Do they video you doing your job of pouring coffee/office work/teaching w/e? No cause that shit would be ANNOYING! Police have them cause they need evidence to protect them when you decide to loose your shit over a $50 fine and punch them in the head. Fuck ppl are dumb

Yeah, this. Being a cop is a high stress job (obviously) so it's really obvious in pretty short order which are the good people and which are the chodebuckets, whereas in a less stressful position you'd probably have to be around them longer to make that decision, but people are people. There are good people, bad people, and indifferent people whatever their lot in life happens to be. It's all too easy to say 'the cops' though instead of seeing them as separate individuals.

I once found a guy lying in the middle of a busy three lane street at like 2am where someone had clipped him while he was crossing the street (I guess he'd just stepped off the median), and that was a fully grown adult. I had to stay with him till the cops/ambu got there.

Some of it's undoubtedly panic and not wanting to get hit with 'vehicular manslaughter', some of it's just dickishness. @_@

I've been in an experience once where someone thought they hit a person and kept driving. We talked to him, and it was understandable. (Nobody was hurt, but unfortunately he killed a large and beautiful snapping turtle. He thought he'd hit my dad, who was trying to move it out of the road. It was too dark to see anything well.)

Basically, the guy hadn't been paying attention and had panicked when he thought he'd hit a human- so he drove a little further out of pure shock, then pulled over. I assume he was going to turn around and see what happened. He was almost crying when we approached him, he was so distressed about it.

That said, Nacht and Syleye, I don't think the people that you're describing felt the same way, if they didn't turn around to check and get help!
