Thank you - that's what I was asking about, but l guess I didn't state it very well. I like how you've said it here.
Wain wrote:If so, maybe they will jump forward and place the next mount achievement at a much higher number. The downside to that would be that any collectors who like to play just one faction would suddenly feel a lot of pressure to play the other as well as there is a HUGE gain in mounts by doing that. In fact, if they adjust the goals based on the assumption you'll have mounts from both factions then it would become impossible to reach the higher goals without playing both. And with each new faction mount added that gap will become wider. It'll be interested to see how they handle it, anyway.
Well, that's me in a nutshell. I'm over 250 mounts right now on one faction (probably around 240 of that was obtained on a single character even, which is more than crazy) but I've never bothered picking up mounts on my horde toons. So suddenly my fairly large collection has turned into a decent, above average collection, since I don't even have the basic city faction mounts on horde.

I know getting those mounts isn't hard. I don't mind putting in the work. But I feel kind of forced to do it even though I really don't want to play anything but my main.

Yep and you really shouldn't have to. (I thought you automatically got the other sides mounts if you had a an opposing faction character? I might be wrong but i thought it was only pvp/argent tournament mounts that were restricted?? I may be wrong).
Junrei wrote:Every mount has value to me. *shrug* I don't devalue them based on when I get them. I earned em, therefore they are all special
Let me rephrase - the mount itself isn't devalued maybe but more the achievement if that makes sense. I didn't have a better word to use. I personally put more value into an achievement i've spent alot of effort on rather than a by chance one like say "going down". Thats just me though, others might not care.

On live, for my horde toons it's showing no city faction mounts other than 2 kodos I picked up while leveling, and of course no argent tournament city faction mounts. So the regular faction mounts like kodos, undead horses, I can get those pretty easily. Doing argent tournament all over again will be a little more painful.

(I know I sound obsessed with this but if I really need to pick up mounts on the other faction, I want to work on it right away since now is a good time to do so.)

Read a recent comment on MMO where someone said: "Copied a couple chars to 6.0 PTR, on live I have 211 mounts, on PTR I have 260. But I don't have the achievement or the felfire hawk, and when I look at the mountacular achiv, I'm still at 211/250" and another person confirmed that they had a similar result on their account. But I'd love to see if someone here could test that.

So if there is anyone with beta access who has under 250 mounts on one faction but over 250 with both factions combined, and can check on this and report back, I'd be very grateful! :)

Beta is abit hard cause they just give you everything mount wise (even when i copied a toon across) so PTR is your best bet atm...but sounds promising for one toon collectors!

Oh, yes. I guess it would be PTR and not beta (ugh I need to read these things when I'm more awake!)

Grr I was hoping to check my spouse's account because his mount count makes him a good candidate to check but he doesn't have PTR access. :(

Well I see multiple people on the aforementioned thread confirming that the achievement on PTR is specifically 250 mounts usable based on faction (even though the mount count on the mount journal includes both sides), so unless I hear otherwise from other sources that's the most up to date info. Doesn't mean they won't change it in the future though, so I guess it wouldn't hurt for me to start knocking out a few reps on horde side and at least get the basic faction mounts.

I've sent a tweet to Le Craft asking for confirmation, I'm not overly expecting a reply, but you never know if you don't ask... finger X

Personal observation, but most of the dev tweeters I've seen seem to be more likely to reply to jaded and hyperbolic complaints than they are to requests for factual info. So, unlike what I normally encourage of posters, sound as bitchy and whiny as possible ;)
