Favorite hunter pet names

After filling up my worgen hunter stable and taming a lot on my orc huntress I have a lot of unique names special to me and so what are some of your favorite names you have named your pets.

On Bloodlegend my orc huntress I have...
Xenasmate my green Portent, Xenasjewel my Emerald Gander, Xenaslove my King Krush, Xenasjoy otherwise known as Hutia, Xenasheart my green direhorn, Xenasflame also called Toxx, Buffy is my Shattered Hand Warhound, Omen is the core hound tamed on Azuremyst Isle, Wildfire is the Springpaw Stalker and Kirara my Loque'nahak.

On Shadowhowl my worgen hunter I have...

Xenasheart is my Savage, Xenasjewel my Emerald Gander, Xenasmate is my Loque'nahak, Xenaslove my green direhorn, Kirara my second Loque'nahak, Buffy is my Shattered Hand Warhound, Omen is the core hound tamed on Azuremyst Isle, and Shadowfang is the Springpaw Stalker.

These are just some of the many names I have for my pets but are my favorite and if you can guess the ones with Xenas are for my girlfriend Xenasblade.

That's a lot of green pets you've got there I'd ask if her favourite colour was green, but then you've got some white pets in there too. Anywho!

Felrius is my diseased wolf. If I had to pick one pet it'd be him for sure!
Azrael is Loque'nahak reborn. In my mind, the loyal saber died and was twisted, and was made into a mockery of what he once was. I tamed him, to try and heal him, and he 'told' me he wanted to remain as Azrael.
Xunsu means swift, and is, or was, my white snow leopard. However, he become a she and Xunsu is actually an albino lioness, daughter of the albino lion who resides under frost saber rock.
Drift is one of my portents, the blue and good one, and was named so because I was suffering from the transformers 4 buzz. Seeing as the colours matched the portent, and the red eyes suited Drifts past, it fit. However, it was a pain getting him, as my other portent apparently didn't like him very much.
Mirage is my purple portent, named after an autobot this time. I wanted the green portent and although I found him, he didn't suit. So I decided to tame whichever portent came to me. And the purple, like 90% of the time, spawned. I actually bonded with him when I was assisting guildies in a CM, and we needed a rezz because people kept dying. So I grabbed a pretty Quilen, and after using Mirage I couldn't bare to part with him.
Hutia is Hutia, I just really like that name she's the healer one of the trio of spectral porkies.
Shiren is the red spectral porkie, and his name means man eater in some language, because of how many times he killed me and the hunters I'd banded with he's the more violent one of the trio.
Taowu is my blue spectral porkie, and although I've forgotten what his name means (I'm such a good hunter!) he's the thinker of the group.
I think that's about it...I've got a load more pets but my mind has drawn a blank I'm afraid. Those are the pets I generally use however.

Yes her main color is green which is why my orc is her hunter so to speak she is the one taming most green pets.

Floyd...Yep

Wasn't even my pet as I was playing a paladin at the time (vanilla), but my wife and I took a lovely trip to Mulgore to tame Mazzranache the pink tallstrider, at lvl 15-20:ish
It was quite the treck from Ironforge to get there for our little dwarven couple.

You guys all have some really special pets I truly know the feeling anytime one of these pets goes into battle how your heart sinks when they get hurt at least that is how I am when ever one of my Xenas gets hurt.

Personally, I've done so many ridiculous soloing attempts with all sorts of dungeons, raids, and world bosses that I don't feel anything when a pet dies.

I like to imagine that they have learned to "feign death" from spending so much time with me and "Revive Pet" is really just patching up their wounds.
At worst, they get might get aggravated, and give me a glare that says "Really? Did you have to pull the entire direhorn herd this time?"


As for names, I'm a big fan of naming my pets after mythological figures or stars/planets, there are just so many cool names out there that can carry significant meaning behind them.
For example, my Direhorn is named Antares, after the supergiant red star. He's giant and red, so they share at least two out of three qualities.

I used to name after mythology and scientific naming. Only a few pets actually have names like this anymore.

Garnet - Springpaw Lynx
My first tamed pet. Named after a medieval myth that if a lynx urinated into a hole, a garnet would grow.
...I thought it was funny.

Dog - Razorquill Porcupine
My first beta tame for Pandaria. I wanted a name, but couldn't think of one. So I named it Dog, and it stayed.

Courtaud - Lone Hunter (Sword in Head)
Named after a wolf of myth in France.
