Just tamed a Ragemaw Worg (Brown with red eyes) without asking.

Party starts Commander Tharbek fight
Me: "Wanna see a cool trick?"
Tank: "?"
Me: Distracting Shot, Tame Beast
Me: "Ninja Tame"
Party: "LOL"

They all got a good laugh out of it. This wolf grew on me too.

I have 3 Hydras now. I got the purple one from the Horde quest by summoning with my Undead 'Lock, logging out when the hydra started attacking the Orc, logging in on my NE Hunter who was parked at the scene, waiting for the Orc to be killed, and then taming.

Tamed a brown wolf on Mia and named him Pike, he might change to the saddled version if that remains tameable. Also tamed Chimaeron on her just because and tamed green hydras on Mia and Belf!Mia, though real Mia is gonna go for the thunder one.

But what I'm really happy about is this guy

I really hope the Pandarian stags use the druid stag animations one day, it was a pain in the ass trying to get a perfect screenshot of his head held high.

That's my only issue with the Pandarian stags. They're always looking down, unless they are moving. However it suits Poncho's personality, so that's alright. Screenies later tonight, if the computer is working ^_^

I'm still gonna grab a Talbuk, Chimearon (because it'll give me slight bragging rights, not gonna lie) and a white stag. Probably experiment with other hydra colours too...

Edit-- and wolves! Mustn't forget wolves!

I tamed the black stag I wanted since years too, I called him Shadow :)
I was at the shrine when someone dropped a party-bomb...I didn't expect the dance at all! Was so cute and funny :)

Also tamed a gazzelle, and tomorrow I will look for other new pets!

I got Chimaeron on one of my hunters (some dying ensued because we were having mechanics issues), and when my main got into Oobers I snagged a wolf from that first pack; mine happens to be black. (I guess it's random?) I want to get Brokentoe but I'm not sure which of my alts hasn't done that quest.

Also... I saw where it looked like they removed the "Exotic Beasts" ability from your spellbook and I got all excited. Only you STILL can't tame exotics below 69 even though there's now absolutely no way to know that now if you didn't already. Trying to tame something that's exotic on a lowbie just returns 'Target not tamable' or something like that.

I told myself I was not going to get one. I don't like most wolves. I dont NEED a wolf. I already have more than I want. I was not even fond of the wod wolf for the most part. they have such a wired hair clump on their neck! But when i saw his green eyes I make an impulse choice to tame him just to get a better look before stuffing him into the corner of my stable until i needed to free up some pet slots.
but.... he grew on me. He just looks so stoic and intelligent. This idea of him being protective over my sand kitten got stuck in my head and well.... meet Sandstorm.

So I've gotten a few hydras. I love them. But for the love of mercy, has ANYONE figured out what the sound muting trick is this expac, yet? The constant burbling gives me a headache!

Thirty seconds after taming my own hydra I promptly turned off the sounds.

I've tamed 3 new pets so far. Well, four if you count the purple hydra from the Horde quest but, meh, none of the current hydra models really appeal to me. I'm going to try a green or black one in WoD and see how things go.

My biggest surprise was completely falling for Fallow, my new stag. He was originally a placeholder for the brown Draenor talbuk who I've been eagerly awaiting. Now I can't imagine trading him out. I never really gave the Pandaria stags a second look. Truthfully I thought they looked kind of silly with the scrolly marks on them but Fallow is gorgeous and graceful. I'm still going to try the Draenor model but I don't think Fallow is going anywhere!

Cute little story about his tame: I was looking over the stags in the area and settled on him, as I swooped down for the tame a wolf started attacking him. I killed the wolf, tamed him, then the wolf immediately spawned and Fallow and I killed him. Nothing major but I love it when little things like that happen during a tame. It makes it more memorable. :)

Next up is Kamehameha my new clefthoof. A friend had an alt with the Nagrand arena quests available so I snatched him up. I originally chose the name for a basilisk but I just can't get into them and it turns out to work perfectly on this guy. I love his colors and think they match my hunter very nicely.
Image

And this is Nightmare 2.0! An upgraded version of my black wolf who's been with me for a long time. I was so excited about this model and seeing tameable worgs in UBRS was a nice surprise.
Image

I might as well throw in one of the Hydra. I don't have him or her named yet. I probably won't until I find a Draenor one I like. They are feisty, I will give them that. I like how their heads fight with each other but their models look so dated and the Outland models are just way too bad for my liking.

I know I will be going after the new Spirit Beast, Gara, as soon as I hit 100 in WoD. If you haven't seen her, look her up on Wowhead. She has the void wolf skin you see in the WoD start area and then later on in SMV. Those are not tameable though. Gara has a unique quest chain based method of obtaining her and it looks like fun. Of course like all Spirit Beasts, she's only for BM.

I know how to turn off ALL pet sounds, that's easy. Thing is, I don't WANT to kill all pet sounds because utter silence is weird and jarring to me. I don't care about fight/aggro noises because they add depth to combat, and the death noise is what alerts me to my pet dying half the time. I just want to mute their IDLE noises, not everything.

You used to be able to substitute a blank .ogg file for certain sounds (I also used it for worgen snorting, though they seem to have muted that on their end FINALLY), stomping noises, and a few other things like that thrice-damned sunflower, but every expac they break it.

Wouldn't you like to mute that godawful starlette pet?

I think it just turns off the idle sounds. i can still hear them in combat.

Grabbed one of the black UBRS wolves today when I was in the dungeon. I wasn't specifically planning on it, but so far I'd only seen the brown and grey spawns so I thought I should go for it while I had the chance.

I know I'll be taming Gara so I'm not sure if I'll end up keeping this guy, but either way I do like these models quite a bit. I'm so happy they went with the coyote animations.

If it's just idle noises then that might be a solution. I just want to use my hydra but... "HRAGNRGFRGRRGLSNARFLPTHT!"

What a gorgeous screenshot! The black and green colors are stunning. And grats on the new pet. I have a fondness for black wolves myself. :)

I tamed a few pets so far with the arrival of 6.0

Astratia's first tame was one of the black wolves from UBRS. Well, technically it was a brown wolf. My first dungeon run through UBRS had no black wolves, and almost no tame. Even after asking the group for a quick tame on a wolf, the tank never acknowledged and proceeded to kill everything in sight. So, I distract shot a wolf (that I thought at first was black) and ninja tamed during the pull on the same group. It wasn't the black wolf, but the brown was quite charming. I really liked his green eyes against his brown fur. I ended up releasing him, but plan on taming him on my Troll hunter. She wasn't going to get a wolf, but this one will suit her well.

My second run the same night though UBRS resulted in one spawn of the black wolf right in the beginning. Again it was another tank that was grabbing everything though this one stated 'we are here to kill things' when I asked to tame one. So, this time I distract shot the wolf, tamed him and dragged the attacking group to the tank. I was pretty happy I got the tame. He looks stunning and his run animation is nice and smooth :) He instantly got a personality because in the first room I could have sworn the 'aggressive' button for our pets was back. He attacked everything in sight that dared to look at us the wrong way. It took a little bit to think of, but he earned the name Fenrir.

Astra has also tamed two stags currently. Both are vanilla models, one being a white stag from Winterspring, the other being a brown stag from Darkshore. I'm undecided which one I like better, and may still try out a Pandarian stag, but not sure if I like the downward hanging head. The look depressed :(

Sezzul, my instant lvl 90 troll hunter went ahead and tamed a Hydra. Trigor the lasher stood out as a challenge because of his hype. After looking at his model, I did like the bright flashy red and green do decided to go get him. Couldn't be that hard right? Haha
Even on my relatively quite server there were five people there before me. Told them aloud I wasn't going to mess with them or the hydra if he spawned. Instead, I started talking with my friends who were cross server and grabbed party invites from them. Most servers were heavily camped, so I just left them. About 30 minutes into it, my friend tosses me an invite to her server. I get on, and the entire wailing caverns cave doesn’t have a soul in it…. Well except for me and Trigore. I hit tame and now have a awesome red hydra! Sezzul even got a hair color change to match him :)
