I made a thread on something I thought not many people would care about. Turns out people like it and I've got someone breeding healing dragons for the thread :3 I feel so much better than when I did when I brought my Arquen.

On a serious note...*screams* THE MODS ARE GONE! THEYRE NEVER COMING BACK!! FR IS IN PANIC!! GRAB YOUR DRAGONS AND HEAD FOR THE HILLS!!! SAVE YOURSELVES!! *dies*

I love it myself, gunna grab it for a few dragons! I rather like how subtle it is- it works for dragons who have iffy terts.

hmmm.... it woulda worked better for me if it had been more noticeable tbh, the dragon I woulda used it on is layered thick with apparel so basically only the tail would show up...

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about spines right now. For me it's sitting at a meh.

I agree tyger. In a lot of cases, they're more like little nubs than ferocious spines.I kind of like them on spirals and imps, but not enough to spam refresh the MP for it.

Yep, this is definitely one gene I can wait around for the hype to be over with. A couple of my dragons look decent with it, but nothing I'm going to go out of my way for. I like their preview of it on male snappers. It just overall disappoints me because their definition of a tert gene is something that covers the dragon's entire body and these spines are barely noticeable. On the bright side, it is a good use of a tert that you're happy to tolerate but other genes just don't quite suit (I tend to consider Underbelly a fall back for those types of terts so now we have Spines too).

That's why I'm getting it for my coatls, Tyger. They're already perfect with their accents- the terts available (until now) just made them messy and gross. But spine fills that last gene slot, and it looks quite fashionable on them, in a necessarily subtle way!

I want it for my progen... all the other terts are too fussy and his tertiary color is -red-... which would look great as a delicate accent but looks gross (in an ungood way) with all the other terts. But yeah, I'm not gonna be panicking. More important is to find a daub gene for him 'cause seraph's just odd with bar. XD

Something I might actually get as a tertiary for my progen (pink doesn't fit his blues, lol) so the subtleness will be nice.

I think this is the ONLY tertiary i would want on Jill my gen 1 wildclaw.. she doenst look to shabby with it on the scrying shop preview.. but im not gonna fuss about it. She can defo wait

and maybe turn twinkle into a guardian and give him spines.. i quite like that

on the rest of my dragons its way to subtle.. even on Lord Fluffinton the thrid who has basis as a tert.. though i might get it on The Shrike or Tree of Thorns for Rp reasons.... not sure yet

Have to say I'm rather disappointed with Spines as well. Cool concept, poor execution imo. A gene that changes the dragons' silhouettes instead of giving them a bold, fancy pattern is a neat idea... but I need to squint to see it on most breeds. Probably not going to get it, but then I said something similar about ripple/current and soon found a use for those
