My god.. That's a lot of chests to open.

I wish I had that luck. I just started Colli farming like two-three days ago because Digging was resulting in 0 chests several days in a row. I can manage about 2-30 chests before I have to call it a night.

I see all these people with beautiful fully gened, fully accessorized Nocs and wonder, "how in the world did they afford that?" I'm amazed. Not one, but SEVERAL. With Iri/Shimmer/Crystal/whatever. The expensive ones. All the new Flourish jewelry that I have yet to see in the marketplace. I just.. how. I barely have any fully gened pairs. It takes me like a week to save up for a scroll. ><

Arena and scorched forest is where I farm.

I'll often refresh the coliseum to get mimics to spawn rather than keep killing mobs I don't even need.

I can usually get about 100 per hr but sometimes more if I don't get distracted

Edit:

#150 and #270 gave me eggs as well.

300 chests, four eggs. A few familiars... I'll take it! Even if I didn't get a scroll still.

I must say I am a little disappointed with the chests consistently amounting to nothing. I farmed A LOT, and I mean A LOT of chests yesterday. 350 went to fellow petopians. Another 462 I opened. The petopians who posted basicailly got the usual foodstuffs, morriors and blah blah blah. Out of the 462 chests I opened yesterday I got not one single egg, no familiars, nothing. Just sucks to put in SO MUCH work for nothing. But alas. I got to make some fellow Petopians happy. So I am happy.
Oddly enough. I almost cannot wait for this event to be over. Flame me for saying that it's been very tiring and I cannot believe how snotty people have gotten on FR over this.

You know what would've been cool? Achievements or some kind of reward for opening so many chests. Like an achievement for opening 500/1,000 chests. At least then, if you didn't get what you were after, you didn't entirely open 1,000 chests for nothing. I know it's all RNG but it really isn't fair that so many people put in so much hard work and get nothing from it. Heck, they coulda made it so that you get an achievement and a free egg or something when you reached 1,000 (that might be a little high, hence why I also suggested 500). I dunno if that's a good idea or not but it sounds good to me.

i agree.. i stop grinding.. its hopeless and feels wrong so i just stopped eventhough i would like alot more scrolls. The idea of the event is good.. the carry.out not so good. Typical FR

First major event like this I am giving them some leeway for learning. I still grind when I have time as the 30-60- gems for the familiars are helping gene up my babies. Now I guess I have been lucky as far as picking up eggs as well as finding 5 scrolls. Sold 3 used one and still have one...not sure what I will do yet. But damn i wish those chests were slightly more useful

I've only found two eggs. Those two I hatched Christmas day. The rest of the nocturnes in my lair I bought

I am well past open 1,000 chests at this point.

Shoot. I cannot even remember how many I've opened at this point. *snerk*
I've been grinding in the waterway. For some reason for me that venue spawns the chests like mad. Whether or not they drop though ............. is another tale of woe.

I've been grinding this whole time purely for a scroll for my triple slate male. Looking like I'll have to throw down a bahjillion gems on one.

God five scrolls? ;-; I'm stressing now as it gets closer to the end I won't even get one after all the work I put into grinding... and no way can I afford one.

I suggested this on another forum (I think? Or was it petopia? XD) but it would be cool if mimic powder could be traded in for chests or even an egg or scroll.

That way while rng still plays a part not EVERYTHING depends on it.

Say... 10 or maybe 15 mimic powders for a chest. 1000 for an egg. 2500 for a scroll.

Something like that.

That way those who actually put in the work and grind their asses off in the coliseum can be guaranteed something. Even if others with a lot more luck might have gotten a scroll or two within their first thousand chests.

Ofc too late for this event but maybe next year... One can dream.

I do want to clarify I grind in all my spare time which amounts to a lot, I lost count of how many chests I opened, but I still consider it luck because of RNG and the fact they are suppose to be rare.

I've taken to just trying to buy nocs. Was lucky enough to find an ok one for 60k.

Goodness knows if it's anywhere near like how I feel, I just want to puke at the thought of one more coli session.

You wanna know crazy. I've been hoarding chests for one last hurrah before the event ends. I've only gotten 100 so far because of my work. I'm terrified it will all be for naught. I just want 1...more...egg, and I have a feeling I'll open however many I can collect and get....butt rocks.

The stress isn't worth it, but I am compelled to carry on.

Would it be poor form to post a thread if I quit? I'd like to empty out my stuff and give away my dragons. I think this event made me realize that since the Coli doesn't really work for me and I don't have RL cash to throw at gems, I - will probably not really get to gene out my dragons and stuff. It's kind of a bummer.

If I were you, I'd quit silently and keep all your stuff. Who knows, you might end up wanting to come back a few years down the line when adventure mode and all that stuff comes out! That way you wouldn't have to rebuild from scratch. Your account wont be deleted or anything, so you can just leave it all for as long as you want with no problems.

Not to mention if you have any festival apparel or familiars, they're just going to get more valuable. If you quit and come back a year or so from now they'll be worth quite a bit.. You'd certainly be able to sell them for the gem or treasure you need.
