The end of the road

I figure seeing this forum is a lot less toxic than the official ones at Blizzard I would like to take this time and say good bye I have come to the decision to end my sub and it will run out the 15th of this month. I started this journey back in Wrath when DKs were a new thing in fact the DK was my first ever character I created and to this day he is still my main though not played as much as my hunters he is the only one to get the legendary cloak. I played off and on during Cata due to real life getting in my way but was able to straighten things out and returned full force for Mists which was one of my most favorites can not help but love running around as a female panda and watching her cute tail lol. Even though Mists had its share of problems many will tell you it was the dailies I enjoyed them because they helped me get rep and kept the game fun running all over Pandaria killing this or collecting that.

Now we come to this patch called a expansion but deep down we all know it is just a filler patch until the real expansion releases in maybe two years I was on the fence about buying it but the lure of riding around on a core hound mount and the fact at 100 I could solo more stuff drew me in I am the type of player who rather solo than group up. I bought it knowing there was going to be a lot taken out but had hope it wouldn't be as bad as it was and I was so wrong. It was worse than expected the professions are all useless since many things are now found in your garrison, the classes were all but destroyed except hunters in BM to me they are the only ones worth still played which is why my only 100s are a Horde and Alliance hunter I even bought a 90 boost to use on a new Pandarian hunter alt I wanted to create. My main DK is 91 and doesn't go back anymore due to it being a pain for melee now. But what finally ended the debate for me and made me last night pull the trigger and cancel my sub was the fact they lied and said no flying was a huge success when if anyone reads the official forums it is a huge failure. I have now seen the terrain twice on both sides and it doesn't change I did the quests on both sides there is really no difference I want my flight back.

Immersion is brought up many times in this debate and no flying killed mine when I can fly at level cap it gives me a reason to want to quest slower in fact my main DK had started the quests there and as usual I was taking my time in reading every single one which I always did on him to take in the lore and on this new Pandarian I was going to boost I was even going to read the quests after boosting to 90 to take in the lore of the Horde. I rushed the first two to 100 because I wanted at least two at max level then wait and see. But no flying gives me no reason to bother anymore in fact my 100 Alliance still has Nagrand to quest in and Spires to finish but being such a pain to travel in on ground all I do now I sit in my garrisons sending my followers on missions and waiting for them to return to send on more.

Flying to me was a way to escape this world in a world where I could mount my drakes and soar through the skies to find a out of the way place such as a waterfall or some out of the way area only flight enabled us to get too. Flying did not kill WPVP I am on a PVE realm and there never was in the time I played there was WPVP even on Thunder and Timeless even Dino Isles I saw flagged players but they were alone no one bothered them because we all know on a PVE realm WPVP is dead. Plus going in we knew there would be no flight those were islands too small for flying but Draenor is a area the size of Outland and we can fly there so why not Draenor.

If and when flight returns I will resub and get back to playing the game my way the game I played for so long my way I am not going to play a game another player wants me to play because they want to whine flying sucks they don't pay my fee and never will. I hope those who wanted so called Vanilla WOW to return are happy now they killed the game they said they loved.

So in closing I want to say good bye Azeroth and those I met along the way and may your travels be safe.....

I feel your pain about no flying, but I want to ride this out till the upcoming patch and see how things are from there. I do still want flying back, but at this point I've come to accept that it's likely it may never come in this expansion.

I think it's extremely silly to end your sub over no flying but....that's just me. /shrug

And before anyone starts, lets not start the whole debate about 'no flying'. That topic was locked already.

I can see how some might not like this expansion overall. I personally have mixed feeling about it, aside from the no flying thing. My only suggestion is to follow up on the patches as they come out, and really do your homework on the next expansion. That way you are sure, that you want to come back to wow.

While I really don't think WoD is "just a filler patch until the real expansion releases" because there is so many things wrong with that it's not even funny but Good bye! Have fun doing what ever you will be doing!

LOL sorry I am keeping it in case I change my mind and decide not to quit just yet I am playing around with my new hunter getting the rare pets I always get on my hunters and am feeling that feeling I get again when I am chasing after them. Also I was thinking of doing a cross continent journey flying from Silvermoon cause I am Horde down to Booty Bay then from Silithus up to the top and over to Outland all over and Northrend and Pandaria all without taking any flight paths doing my exploring along the way if this doesn't help with my immersion then I know it is time to hang it up but right now while going after Loque and the like I am somewhat immersed again call it the thrill of the hunt.

After the events of today my road is no longer ending but the journey is going to continue I know I said I would quit because of no flying even went so far as to unsub but then I took a alt I never play into Kara and wouldn't you know it the mount drops. I am thinking ok maybe Blizzard wants me to stay or it is just good luck so I log onto some others I know can take down Onyxia and head there killing her a few times with no mount. But then I log my 100 Horde and take her there hoping beyond hope it was also set to 25 which I knew was a piece of cake being 100.

Was a great fight she gave me all she had and then some the whelps were taking hits at me but I didn't give up I shot them all and being 100 she was dead before hitting the ground in phase three even on 25. I go over and loot her and there it was the reins of the onxyian drake it does exist and again got me thinking is this Blizzards way of saying don't leave we will let two of the three, other is ashes, drop for you if you just stay.

Funny thing is last night before logging for the night I did resub to give them another chance I figure ok we may never have flight in Draenor but at least we got it in the other areas so my Onyxian drake is still going to soar like an eagle.

So no one gets my stuff because I am keeping it since I am staying in Azeroth and all because I got two mounts been farming for so long now.
