Good Pet for a Newer hunter?

I always keep a beetle/turtle for the heavy duty tanking since their abilities line up the best for surviving heavy damage. 50% damage reduc plus the healing bonus from blood of the rhino, spirit bond talent + the mend pet glyph....its nuts.
If you are BM I would recommend looking into a quillen/Shale spider once you can tame them. Quillen are a lifesaver in heroics since it can tank bosses and Brez the tank/healer if you need too. shale spider has all the same abilities that make the beetle/turtle a good choice but it also comes with the kings buff soooo yeaaahh.

Also as BM, Spirit beasts are great tank pets for situations where you need some decent tanking but also plan on taking a lot of damage yourself.
