Greetings,

I recently (2-3 days ago) was out in Frostfire Ridge on my alliance hunter, and was screwing around late night and tamed a Rylak that was perched on a mountain outcrop, at first i didn't anything about this till I realized I was in my marksman spec. I had the pet out and running with me, and got excited and released the one I just tamed and went off to Nagrand to try for the armored one out there.. well then it told me it was exotic taming only.

Has anyone else encountered a rylak in frostfire ridge that is tameable as marksman spec hunter or did I just happen to find a glitch one night while out there?

Some rylak there is bugged ... If u tame the red rylak flying in the sky the rider will turn friendly also ...

Interesting, I play MM spec all the time, and only have beast mastery for taming pets I think are cool and fun to have about, kinda wish I would have kept the one I tamed that night so I could have him about.

Do you happen to remember the location and name of the beast? Or what it was called after you tamed it? There were a couple of rylaks in FFR that were mis-classified as chimaeras, but that would still make them exotic.

When I tamed it it was just called Rylak, and as for the location.. it was perched on a cliff with others, all non elites.. I think a drift rylak or something like that is all I can recall

Hmm, weird. If it was called "Rylak" after taming then it was of the right family and can only be exotic. I'll check it out though. There are three different rylaks with "Drift" in their name. None actually called "Drift Rylak" though. One is mis-classified as a chimaera on live (fixed in 6.2) but that shouldn't have allowed a MM to tame it. Strange.

Do you remember a general location for it in Frostfire? Eastern, Western, Southern, or Northern area? What color was it? The only rylak with "drift" in it's name in Frostfire Ridge that I see is the Driftwatcher Rylak. Someone might be able to poke around a bit and see if they can't find it, if you can give us a general part of FFR to check. (There's a lot of rylaks out there. ._.)

Also, as a side note on the red rylak who keeps it's rider when tamed - the rider does not stay permanently. It disappears upon dismissing the pet, and you'll have just a basic red rylak upon resummoning, if I remember correctly. Same idea for if it dies. Fun to goof off with in main cities, if you don't go through any portals on a flying mount. ><

EDIT!: I decided to poke around a bit out in FFR to see if I could find this mystery non-exotic rylak, and I indeed found it! Location is Magnarok, FFR. Name is Flamewing Skytalon. I took a short video of Tor taming one, while in Survival spec, as proof.

Did you get both haste and stamina from its buff?

Edit: Decided to go grab one on live. It says it gives both haste and stamina to non-BM, and my stats are modified. Interesting bug! I went ahead and abandoned since this has combat impact and I don't want to go there.

If I remember correct it was near one of the horde bases.. minor one I believe. only gave me haste buff

I'd report that immediately since it gives a buff to you where it shouldn't(let alone letting you have it out). We'd not want you getting wrongfully banned or anything.

Yeah, that'd suck. o.o 10+ years of playing, only to be bested by something stupid like that. No thank you.

is it the rylak that uses a chimeera skill??

Btw wain, i found some rylaks called : Grom'kar war rylak @ Ironhold Harbor - theres nothing on petopia page - 90495 - but untameable - was able to lore it, had to get up high because it was 2 far >.<

the one i tamed, much like Torachi's video, was a Rylak that gave both Rylak buffs (haste and stam) to non-BM specs.

Okay, I reported it to Blizzard as soon as I could confirm it was tameable as a non-BM hunter, and I'd really appreciate it if everyone else would report it, too. I don't want to see anyone getting into trouble over this, since it having the buff it has could be considered an unfair advantage. So please, report this bug to Blizzard, and don't go running off to tame one yourself.
