Also take into account that a lot of the stat buffs pets currently give are going away in Legion (possibly all secondary stats are, they said something to that effect but may have backed off on it since then.)

I honestly don't know what they'll do in their place... I understand their dislike of 'boring stats'...things you just have to have to not suck that don't actually add anything to your enjoyment of the game (crit, haste, versatility, etc.) At least mastery has some specific effect based on your spec but currently you don't even see -that- until 80. But it does mean that pet abilities are probably going to be scraped off entirely and somehow redone. It's hard to say whether or not two pets are OP until we find out where that particular shoe is going to drop.
