Mounts in Legion

They have added something to it (whether or not it's been that successfully implemented) that no other mount has ever revived.

It has a reactive tail, that moves according to your moment. It looks like it's use the new "Flail" technology (and other chained/hanging things). If you watch the footage of it in the last 1/2 of the movie you can see the rats tail in more action.

You can see it clearly flip and flop from one side to another depending on turns, but doesn't really react to jumping which I think makes the concept on this fall over for me (or maybe it does and it's just not overly clear in this movie). It's a neat idea (though it still looks a little untidy personally) and I could see it work really well for other mounts in the future (Dragons Tails and such)

Yeah, the tail is a separate model that is attached to the main body like a character is to a vehicle. From what I understand it's subject to similar animations as a vehicle uses on its passengers.

So they legit just stuck a "Flexi Prim" onto the butt of the rat. No bones. Just a flexy. A little lazy, but I guess it's not a huge deal. Sadly having a flexi like that makes jagged edges that a tail with 'bones' in it wouldn't have. But I guess it's not the end of the world.

It kinda seems a waste to have it restricted and not a true mount...I kinda hoped it was a fishing turtle 2.0 for dalaran

Oh yay! I'm glad the rat got a tail, and I think the physics on it are kind of neat honestly. Maybe not perfect, but I like it.

Still bummed such a unique model was delegated as not much more than a temporary toy though. :/ I'd really love to see proper rat beasts in the game eventually.

Personally I really like the rat. So ugly it's cute. I'm probably incorrect but I wonder if the made the tail the way they did to kind of be like real life rats which use their tails as rudders. Saw the video the tail almost moved like it albeit a very flacid rudder. Not a deal breaker for me .

I'm surprised they gave it no bones, considering right now it kinda looks like a flaccid.....'Word I don't think I'm allowed to say on the forum'.

Just kinda weird and lazy, but eh, unless it really bothers them I doubt they'll mess with it now. Weirds me out a bit since the tail should drag against the ground unless running but meh, I can live with it.

I'm not overly keen on them being PVP rewards either and would be shame to exclude them from people whom don't like PVP... but their armour style a design, it just remind me a hell of a lot like ones prior.

But regarding them never adding more than 2 pvp mounts per expac...
Dare I say, Gladiator Arena mounts (That said they normally cap out at 4, not 6 per expansion so, I'm not banking on it)

(this could be following the "Vicious" pvp themed mounts rewarded from acquiring Vicious Saddles, so maybe a Vicious Gilnean Horse on the way?

The WCM unisickles are updated for their proper names etc. So I guess now we just called them "coursers", like regular horses.

I'm in the process of adding the goblin trike.

The Fathom Dweller is simply absurd. I guess it's a true mount as it's listed as dropping from an NPC. Really shaking my head at that one.

Oh it's not the realism. I love off-beat mounts.

It's the animations and stance of the thing. It's been in the database for a very long time (since BC? Vanilla?) and I suspect there was a reason they decided back then not to use it for a mount. It never really worked.

But maybe they have something clever up their sleeves that I haven't been able to imagine. So far it's a bit rough.

Originally (before they changed it in Legion) the mount was a pair of jellyfish. I wonder if they had intended you'd stand with one under each foot? Not sure.

I'd like it if the rider on the fathom dweller were tangled up in the tendrils below it, like it couldn't decide to eat you or it was having a battle of wits trying to mind control you.

I'm holding out hopes that the gilnean vicious mount will be an unarmored/unsaddled un-unicorn. The original gilnean mounts were a let down, being unsaddled/unarmored horses, but a gilnean "courser" would make up for that.

Maybe it will bloop like that and we'll ride on it like that. Best solution I can come up with. Just a slow blooping while going idle, then tilting some and blooping faster while flying, kinda like if you were riding a beholder maybe? I dunno.

I'd really love to see a non-armoured version too. Such a beautiful model under all that armour.

I do wonder if we'll see a "Vicious" Gilnean mount this cycle, since they seem to be going with Goblins for the Horde side. But if they stick with a standard bareback horse it can hardly be very exciting, can it? :/ I always thought the epic Gilnean mount should have been a carriage, since they had that model mostly working in Cataclysm. Maybe they could do something like that.

Anyway, the racial choice surprises me since Blood Elf and Draenei should have been next in the queue. :/

Ugh. I'm really disappointed those unisickles are an honor mount. Although I reckon it's better than PvP. I really despise what PvP has become and like Nactwulf said completely loathe it now.
