New theme for the forums

Soooo, Petopia is a greenie type colour right, so what if Mania downloaded and installed a new theme for the forum? I dunno about anyone else but sometimes glaring white can be a bit much for my eyeballs

If I had to pick one, I'd pick the first one. It best matches the main site, and the other two are too dark (dark sites really mess with my eyes.).

I agree with Dewclaw, I'd hate for the theme to be dark with a light font. I get all dizzy when trying to read that kind of thing. Hate the official forums for that. >.>

I think it's a good idea though, if Mania likes it I'd be all for it.

I really love dark forums with light fonts, but I know a lot of people don't so it probably isn't a good idea.

Truthfully I'm so accustomed to the current appearance here it would be a little jarring to see it changed, but that's just me. xD

It's not that *I* don't, it's that my eyes don't do well with them.

I also noticed my squiby just hatched. Anyone know at what point they're considered grown up?

I'd definitely say go for a custom skin before using a premade, but that's easier said than done.

First one out of the three, but it still seems sharp and uninviting. I like the colors, though. :]

I prefer the last one, but agree with Razz. These forums deserve something unique. I'd be happy to help out with the art, making stripes and such is something I do fairly well. :D

I installed the first and third styles so you can switch to them if you like. I haven't done any customization, though -- so for example, the third style is labeled "Support Forum". But they're there, anyway.

A custom theme is a bit down my list, after revising the underlying Petopia database to handle Cataclysm better. But I haven't forgotten it.

Where do you go to try out the themes?

User Control Panel >> Board Preferences

Click on User Control Panel in the top right of your screen.

Once there, go to Board Preferences from the sidebar on the left. Near the bottom of the page that comes up will be My board style with a drop down menu of different themes.

Think I'll stick to the original though, I like the way it also shows the topic with the latest update.

<Edit> Well, maybe I will play around a bit. The light green's not too bad.
