My Hati is an undead now

I vaguely remember a quest that turned my pet into a ghostly copy of my character. I wish I could remember what that was now so it could be tested too.

I wonder... if that was found, couldn't you use a toy that transformed you first, say into a naga or an ogre, then have it make a ghostly copy of you? If that was possible, and it did in fact transform your pet to match you.. the possibilities are endless.

Have a demon hunter friend transform, use the Ai-li Skymirror, then that debuff. I'd totally use a male tank DH as my pet; Purple Diablo is best Tank.

From my understanding the essence swapper only works on a already tamed beast. Not a "wild" one. So it wouldn't work.

Then how are you guys getting the slimes and other things hunters can't tame?

There are certain mobs that have debuffs, or certain areas that give you buffs, that affect your pet's model—when your pet is afflicted with those abilities/buffs/debuffs, you can swap that look onto Hati to make it permanent, but it's a very specific set of models that this gives access to. There aren't, for example, any buffs/debuffs that will turn your pet into one of the new unicorns (edit: that I'm aware of), and not every ability that exists that turns things into other things will affect a pet, or are on a mob that can realistically hit your pet (the Vilebranch Witch Doctors in Hinterlands have a 5s duration chicken polymorph, but I spent a solid half hour out there last night and wasn't able to get it to land a single time). It's a lot of trial and error and tears and hoping that everybody keeps in mind that this is likely a very temporary toy for us, haha.

Hey Quiv, just a thought...now I'm not 100% sure, but from memory, if you are stunned (or your pet) it is impossible for a hit to miss?

With that in mind, maybe recruit a friend with a stun, duel and get them to stun your pet (while they being attack by the bloodmoon cultists) then maybe, just maybe they might land an infected bite hit?

The above may work for other debuffs needed from other low level mobs like the witch doctors and the likes.

Joined the forum to give what info I had. Sat for 5 hours trying to make Hati a Worgen. Even got a guild mate to keep Hati stunned while I was rez sick and now I have finally given up.

Also You make Hati a skeleton in Karazhan by going to the Skeletal Servers near Moroes. Its easy to get 3 of them on your pet while they try to cast brittle bones. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

They are called Skeletal Waiters, and they place a debuff called Brittle bones; but it wont always transform your pet.

Right now I have Goremaw attacking a pet as MM. With MM and a Tenacity pet, Thunderstomp doesn't one shot Goremaw, and he does the Infected Worgen Bite ability. I don't know if the transformation will survive a respect (its a minute long but it may fall off).

I don't think it matters, even naked with rez sickness, Goremaw is still missing my pet as MM.

Edit: Learned an interesting fact. Out of curiosity, I used the Essence Swapper while in MM spec. Switched back to BM and Hati had taken the form of the pet I had as MM.

Yes i learned that as well, the weapon doesn't even need to be equipped. Whatever pet you have out the swapper well copy no matter the spec.

Oh my god, thank you so much for pointing this out Dexis! I've been keeping an eye on this thread and while all of the finds have been super awesome, none really struck me as wanting to try them yet. Until now! A little electrified skeleton minion is just too cool to pass up, and I went and got him just now. I love him!!



Honestly now I'm kinda dreading the eventual nerf of this. I know it's going to come at some point because we are treading the line of exploitation, but I wonder if we might get to keep some. *crossing my fingers*

Even now that I can make Hati look like a pet of my choosing, I still haven't really enjoyed having 2 pets. I know a lot of people love it and have been looking forward to something like this, but for me I just prefer having a single companion and more than that makes me feel...a bit cluttered, there's so many things following me and getting in the way. This tiny skeleton is perfect and I'll try to enjoy him while I can and just hope that I can keep him somehow. </3

Same. Legion's the first time I felt what me and friends dabbed "pet fatigue" and that's the reason I level Thas'dorah alongside Titanstrike in about the same proportions. For older content would probably take Dire Frenzy over Dire Beast + Stomp for the very same reason

On topic of worgens, still have nada. Took rez sickness, pulled as many as I could together, smacked them with Foam Sword and had a friend keep Skoll stunned, while they furiously scratched at him. Some rare normal attacks hit, but no bites. With scarce rate of those the debuff won't have stayed up long enough to gain three stacks even if one or two lucky bites of it landed.

The slime Spirit of Koosu way back in Wrath was flagged as a tamable crocolisk and hotfixed in the second patch. Others were from other glitch tames that can no longer be done (i.e. oil coated pets, sha-infested etc).
These special pets are what Hati is being swapped with along with a tamed pet being hexed etc.

I'm trying the Bloodmoon worgen too, and I haven't gotten a single application in the 20-30 minutes I've been here. Only possible way I can think of is getting a pet to transform and immediately dismissing it at a low level to "preserve" it, then only take it out again at 110 to swap over the buff.

I remember time-walking sometimes making a pet display a lower level, not sure if it makes it that way mechanically, though.

OMG this is so cute! I wasn't going to bother with the "trick" skins but a murloc wins hands down. And I don't mind if it's temporary either, it's just too awesome to not enjoy even if only for a little while.

Took off all my gear, stuck my pet between two Chillmere Oracles, and channeled, channeled, channeled... missed 3 transformations but the 4th happened just as my channel ended and voila!

So how do I get Hati to be larger when he's swapped? The demon I had before was small from the normal tame and when I tried the troll berserker he was tiny.

Edit: Just redid the demon and he's larger than before, weird why the previous one ended up being character size.
