This is seriously one of my favorite additions to the game! It's really exciting to see pets I never get to have with me unexpectedly jumping into combat.
I don't even need to see their names, as I imagine that would be a much more complicated endeavor. However, I do wish it were possible to block the active pet's appearance from showing up in the rotation - or at least be able to opt out.
There are a few size scaling issues that I just want to make sure are known. My silkworm (a red Spotted Caterpillar) and arcane wyrm (a Serpent of the North) turned out LARGE (not huge; that would cause more problems), while my yak (a brown Mountain Yak from the Valley of the Four Winds) showed up rather tiny.

Re: Glyph of the Dire Stable
I was constantly relogging back and forth from leveling my hunter to milling my hunter's herbs on my warlock on the 30th so I could get the glyph up and running ASAP. Glyph of Dire Stable's been something I've been asking for for forever (though I didn't expect much when DB was still a talent, since the only talents with glyphs have typically been talents that were baseline abilities first) and it was soooooo agonizing when 7.0 dropped and it was finally available, except not really because it required Legion mats!
Kil'uun or whatever the name of the Ji'kun style bird from Draenor also ends up very large, as do both of my riverbeasts. Almost horrifyingly large, actually (though not as big as the Thoks and other devilsaur from the other threads, haha). I think the rest of my stable summons at a pretty standard size.
It's weird that every so often a not-stabled beast shows up. They're mostly aesthetically pleasing ones like the new unicorns or an actual night elf druid in cat form or whatever so I'm mostly okay with it, especially since it's much less common than one of my own pets showing up is.
I have noticed that some pets seem to show up more frequently than others, and I haven't really figured out if there's a pattern to it or just the small(ish) sample size of "however many Dire Beast casts I've done doing world quests and outdoor content and trash pulls in dungeons" is adding to observational bias, but I picked up some extra sporebats in prep for the glyph and I haven't seen the new draenor sporebat in grey/white pop up at all. Seivarden, Thok, Artichoke, and the unnamed blue riverbeast show up a LOT but that's DEFINITELY observational bias, because I can see all four (and hear Thok) no matter how big Rokmora's stupid rocky butt is, haha

Re: Glyph of the Dire Stable
I honestly adore this glyph so much! <33 It has made a huge difference for me.
I started out with the Arachnophobia glyph because I love spiders, but as cool as it was, it just wasn't really feeling that different from the default dire beast honestly. Then a few days ago a very kind person made me the dire stable glyph, and I've been so happy ever since!
I actually recognize the pets that are being called out, and maybe it's just me, but it feels like it calls my stabled pets far more often than the arachnophobia called spiders (since the default dire beasts still have a chance to show up). Definitely some sizing issues though lmao, my Draenor boars are HUGE but I think it's kind of fun.

Its amazing, even when it goes into weird "Summon Feral Druid" mode. I love it!
Re: Glyph of the Dire Stable
I agree 110% Between that and the essence swapper, even with the bogus lack of abilities for all pets right now, I finally feel like I am out there with all my favorite pets again, kicking butt and taking names!
