You & your Krush...

So I was considering all the posts of "I got Krush" in the pet forums; to lump them into one thread of you & your Krush pic, & or story of how you got him/her.

So after picking up the Beast Mastery spec I started playing Pokemon, Loque'Nahak was the first, then I decided to start vacationing in Sholazar Basin waiting on the elusive King Krush...

Ten hours later at around eleven at night he finally spawns, near the Nesingwary Camp & of course I ruin the tame, still have him tagged & I see a hunter's mark on him...not mine. I look beyond Mr Krush & there's another hunter of my own faction mind you shooting at Krush...

A guildie shows up just as Krush falls dead on the ground before me, & he of course gets angry at the guy who killed Krush.

All I ask is..."Why??"

My guildie is the one who starts the conversation however...

"You know she's been here ten hours waiting for him I can't believe you did that, why'd you do that?"

"I needed him for the kill cheesement"

"... you didn't even have him tagged!"

As they fling a string of obscenities at each other, I just stand there feeling drained & tired, guildie asks for the King's Eyesocket, & I tell em "ya sure...whatever...thanks for trying with me though'', & go to bed for five hours.

Five hours later I wait up & fly around Sholazar again, around the ten hour mark there's Mr Krush again at the Glimmering Pillar; a gnome mage almost dies killing him but if he didn't there were at least four vultures circling in for a cheesement.

I've got another ten hours before the next spawn so I do a guild raid, some heroics & dailies...then at around ten-thirty sunday night I go flying around the routes of Krush & get a guildie to hang out with me.

Finally around Skyreach Pillar the bells & whistles go off, there's Mr Krush stomping by the whasps who don't seem to care.

I get nervous flub the tame, try again, he gets aggro then we both get feared...try again another fear; mind you by this time I've gone through at least a handful of trash pets for Bastial Wraith.

After a good five to ten minutes, with us both surprised Krush has been up this long without anyone taking him out; I hit all the cooldowns, trash pet, & Bastial Wraith; another fear, turn around to face Krush, & begin a final tame...

Then I get him!

Guildie's all "Oooh that was a nail biter for sure!." on vent, I'm profusely thanking him, & then I named Mr Krush, Yoshì.

I took this right from my original post. I did that because I hope that it conveys the sheer excitement I felt at the time.

OMG, still reeling from the disbelief that I actually got him!!! Ever since the first time I found him, and lost him due to three 80's swooping in and killing him, I've been what my husband calls, "obsessed" (can't imagine where he'd get that from). I spent several hours yesterday looking for him again, from about 8:00 in the morning til about 1:30 this morning (not non-stop, but often). Nothing. So today I called off work due to my lack of sleep last night, and went back to bed. But I laid there, thinking, "I need to check, just once. What if he's there? Just go check and go back to bed". So that's what I did. I started out in Nesingwary's camp, and flew clockwise. First, up west by The Maker's Perch where I first saw him. Nothing. My heart sank a little. Continued on anyway toward Glimmering Pillar and THERE HE WAS. I couldn't believe it! I go down to tame, and not even looking at my surroundings, start taming right next to Farunn. CRAP. I feign, and start to fly away to look for another pet. A blood elf paladin arrives. "NO NOT AGAIN!" I think to myself, so I fly up, emote /no, /beg, and /plead. He actually leaves! Wow. I'm putting humanoid tracking on now. I already know KK is there, I need to know if any people are there that might kill him. Ok. I go grab another pet, go up again, and begin the tame. Well, he got a couple huge crits in or something because I'm down to about 1k health with at least 4 seconds left on the tame. In frustration and anger I storm out of the room to grab my phone. Last resort, my brother. I dare not ask anyone in general because that only invites someone to be mean. I must be...covert. My brother was awake, hurray! But now the painfully long couple minutes must go by before my brother can get there (resto shaman). I sit and wait for him. Thankfully no one comes by, whew. He finally gets there. We got one shot at this, heroism has a 10-minute cooldown. He gives me earth shield, pops heroism, and I pull Krush with a distracting shot + scorpid sting, then begin my taming macro (TBW+abandon+tame). He charges me, right in the middle of TBW. Nooooo! There go precious fear-immune seconds. But that's ok, we're doing this anyway. My brother's earth shield and heroism prove to be a HUGE help, as finally, the tame bar dwindles, dwindles, dwindles, and finally KRUSH IS MINE!!! I'm still all shaky and ecstatic! Just funny how I just had this tugging to go check. Wow. So after thanking my brother a billion times (and him replying back that I'd better help when he wants Aotona, hehe), I log on my horde alt to thank the pally that didn't kill Krush, unlike the allies that did a couple days ago. I offered him money, but he said he didn't want it. He said he was just glad I finally got him and that he's happy for me. Again, thanked him profusely, and logged. I have renamed Krush Apollyon (the Destroyer). It seems a fitting name.

I know people say that when you see your tame sitting there, not to panic. But when that adrenaline is flowing and you realize that here sits the beast you've been looking for (even moreso when you've lost it once or more already), you can't help but be excited beyond words. Took three tries (five if you count the previous time), but it paid off. And calling off of work paid off, too (though I didn't call off specifically for Krush, he was a fortunate by-product).

By the way, I am level 75. Probably very over-ambitious to try to tame him but I had decent gear so I figured I'd try it. Couldn't have done it without help, that's for sure.

Ok, enough yacking. Here's my pride and joy whom I shall never EVER get rid of.

Nice idea for a thread. I have to admit I feel a teeeensy bit left out reading your stories (and all the others on the forum), he's such an awesome tame. But then again, I'll probably try for him once they open up our stables. All the stories and pictures are so inspiring.

Aww I love the matching minipet!! <3 How did you tame him? Was it solo or with help? /curious.

I was browsing the pets on... Petopia, lol... when I came across the coolest looking devilsaur skin. I had never seeing it in the game and I found that it belonged to a rare spawn in Sholazar's Basin: King Krush.

I was determined to find and tame this beast, so I circled Sholazar's Basin endlessly, well seemingly endlessly, visiting all of the spawn points that WoWhead specified.
I even put out a bounty for his location payable once I successfully tamed him.
I came across a few dead bodies of the big green guy, once mere seconds.... seconds too late... and I even had him spawn moments after I hearthed out... spawning on the hour and half hour my butt.....
But finally after 6 weeks of constant searching I got a tell from a druid that was farming herbs in Sholazars Basin that told me where I could find him just as I was doing my final round of the basin for the night.
After a long stressful flight, I had an old and busted flying mount (aka. the slow one) and King Krush was on the other side of the basin, but luckily I found the Big Green Guy plodding along near the wasp hive still alive and unharmed.
After a few unsuccessful tame attempts, I was able to complete the tame with the help of the druid that had shown me where he was at, and King Krush was now my new best friend.
My gear was nowhere near as good as what is needed for a solo tame, so I was lucky the guy that found him was a healing class.
I paid him what I promised plus a tip of 200 gold for all his help.
It made my day, and I went to sleep happy as can be.

It was the best Christmas present I could get. (He was tamed December 25, 2008 at 3:00 am -ish)

Wow. What a great experience. I wish all rare tames were like that, with people helping and so on.

This was possibly the hardest tame I've ever gone through. I was still under the impression that healing interrupts tame, because I failed to read any tactics. So, I bought as many +Stam greens as I could and headed off to Sholazar.
And waited..
After a few months of camping every weekend, I gave up. Probably 6 months later I was in Sholazar grinding rep for Protodragon when I suddenly hear THUMP THUMP THUMP.
Well, I panned my screen a bit and to my surprise, King Krush was waddling about. I squealed and threw poor Kaylai off of her mount, drank a haste pot and immediately casted tame. He feared me right away and I had to FD. So, I figured I could try taming a trash pet and casting BW really fast, then deleting. (This was when BW was longer). I tamed some eagle and went to work. This method took a few tries to get the strategy right, but soon enough Mr. Krush was at my side. Mine's name is Luxuria, (she's a female). I still can't get over how beautiful of a creature she is!! <3<3
