Having feather fall is actually pretty useful. But if they give us something with better utility I'd be happy too.

All I'm saying is a hunter doesn't need to have a pet with updraft when there are other options for slow falling. To each his own. :)

Looks like we will have some rares or challenge tames

Can we have HD skins for old Hippogryph colorations and maybe some tamable snowy or ebon gryphons?
There will be tameable black and white gryphons, but you will have to find them. (Muffinus)

Tome of the Hybrid Beast: Would be cool if this unlocked another "page" of stable slots. Or put it on vendor.
Probably worth noting, Feathermanes include: Gryphons, Hippogriffs, Owlcats, Wolfhawks, and Wyverns (most NYI atm) (Muffinus)

any chance the Corrupted Hippogryph model could be added as a tame? would suit the expansion perfectly
If you can find it (Muffinus)[/b]

The black gryphon has been located, see:
http://www.wow-petopia.com/look.php?id= ... _skinblack

but not the others yet! :)

It seems likely (but unconfirmed ) that there will be other purple and blue hippogryphs since those colours are easily available to Horde but effectively impossible for Alliance.

Since Muffinus replied "If you can find it" must mean there is one but we have not found it yet. Being corrupted I say it will be on Broken Shore. Could be another Fel Rangari Anaara type of tame, where we have to kill its corrupted rider or get a vile to cleanse it first.

Might mess around on the ptr then if it's already in. Though since we do have months to go I'm sure they're still in the process of implementing them.

You know what would be awesome? Priest's 7.2 mounts as pets.

Yeah.. I said that the moment they came out. :( I'd love to see them in natural colors, as both mounts and pets. Snowy owls, barn owls, etc.

The problem with the Priest's mount is that there are literally only three left, and they are mounts. There never was any wild ones, and won't be.

I don't see why though there couldn't be similar wild animals, in natural colors. Like I said - barn owl, snowy owl, etc... Nothing stopping Blizzard from doing so. A subspecies of gryphons.. just instead of an eagle, an owl.

Because, in lore, there are literally just three left. They were never a wild animal. They were created by the Titans to fight against the Void. That is what they've been doing ever since they were made. Only three have survived - one being void-contaminated.

Yes but like I said, there's nothing stopping Blizzard from twisting their lore or adding them in as a separate creature entirely, but with similar looks. Natural colors and flesh/feathers rather than titan-made.

There's such a slim chance we'd get them anyways, but they'd make such a beautiful gryphon-creature in the wild it'd be a shame.

Sure, Blizz could retcon it, but I don't think we should be wanting Blizz to do that just to give us a pet. And as I said, there aren't any left. They were originally created by the World-Soul Azeroth, then utilized by the Titans. For all practical purposes, they were natural creatures that are nearly extinct.

Besides, the Seekers are meant to be something unique to Priests. Making a tamable version would take away from them. Would be like adding a tamable Xuen or Giant Ravens.

I don't think it'd take away from them much as long as it's altered heavily. Duller, natural colors and the removal of the armor & trail would be enough; just like Xuen/Monk class mount vs normal pandaren tigers. Same creature essentially, but a pretty vast difference in color/accessories.

But w/e, like I said the chances we'll see it are slim anyways. Even though I still think it's such a waste to not see that model used again. Blizzard creating a new breed of gryphon that isn't a Seeker, with an owl body instead of an eagle isn't really a far fetched idea.

I'm debating if I feel brave enough to post to Muffinus about the ghost gryphon & wyven. I know they're mounths but good lawd they'd make some sick spirit beasts. Or just a ghost pet.

And oh that corrupted hippogryph. My one hunter needs it!

Except Xuen and Ban-fu aren't Pandarian Tigers. They are Wild Gods. But anyways, it would still be a Seeker. Just changing the colors and removing the armor wouldn't change that fact. If it has a feline body and an owl's head, it is a Seeker.

I do agree, however, that it is very unlikely they'll ever be utilized outside of the Priests (of which I am glad)

Except that's entirely the point I'm trying to make; is that Pandaren tigers, Xuen and Ban-fu all use the same model... but are not the same creature. Just like Seekers and another Gryphon-creature with an owl head could use the same model but be entirely different creatures.

"Owl head with feline body" doesn't need to = Seeker only. Reusing models for different creatures with small alterations is a common practice in World of warcraft, after all, and no one except Blizzard can say that there's zero possibility of other creatures in the world with a likeness similar to Seekers; Seekers themselves were a recently created creature. So it's not like they can't create more.

But don't want to get too off topic. I just think different breeds of gryphons would be welcomed, whether it be an owl or any other large bird of prey.

Nice find!! Ahh I'm so happy the purple one will be tameable <33 Though I'm surprised 2 of those are the same model? Still hoping there might be a corrupted one hiding somewhere.
