Unlike Jetwing, he isn't just flying around in the open. He has to be spawned. Located in the Hidden Grove in Winterspring is a very large nest. When you destroy the nest, you spawn Snowblind. And, like Jetwing, his Lvl scales to whatever yours is.

Well, after hours of searching, I have finally found Snowblind!

Re: New family : Feathermanes
Ohhh I hope this is intentional, I'd be so happy if I could easily pick up feathermanes on my other hunters without needing to do the entire unlock process for each of them. *crossing fingers*Rawr wrote:When did this change to Bnet bound?? http://ptr.wowhead.com/item=147580/tome ... brid-beast

How awesome!! Well doneValnaaros wrote:Well, after hours of searching, I have finally found Snowblind!![]()
I was surprised she'd be in Kalimdor. I was looking mostly in EK since (I think) all previous ones have belonged to that continent.
I wonder how many more will require close scanning of zones to find interactive objects / mobs that cause them to spawn. And I wonder if the fel hippogryph is in an old Legion part of the world or in the Broken Isles.

What was your process for finding him if you don't mind me asking? What made you choose that zone to search?

Re: New family : Feathermanes
Mainly, I searched areas that had Gryphons or things related to them (like Dwarven lands) and places that had snow. I searched Dun Morogh, Kun-lai, Hillsbrad, Hinterlands, Winterspring, Northern Hyjal, all of Northrend, etc. I used the usual minimap tracking to keep an eye out for him, but never saw him.
I checked Winterspring probably four or so times before I finally noticed the nest. Since Jetwing was out in the open, I didn't think Snowblind would be any different.

You bet
Re: New family : Feathermanes
The corrupted is so cool. It's the one I'm wanting most as well (other than the Arcane model). I still feel like following the theme of the finds so far, I feel we'll see the corrupted hippogryph - if it exists yet - in Felwood, Desolace, or elsewhere in Broken Isles. But it seemed the two gryphons that were found (Jetwing and Snowblind) were both hidden away in places that either made sense for the coloration and/or for the creature to be there. I'm wondering if they're both in Old World because of the old model as well (while there are some new models spawning in old world, like the recent hippogryph event with the rare during that event).zedxrgal wrote:I'm debating if I feel brave enough to post to Muffinus about the ghost gryphon & wyven. And oh that corrupted hippogryph. My one hunter needs it!
IDK just rambling thoughts XD
Re: New family : Feathermanes
Well, the new Spirit Fox is also in the old world, so it seems like they're trying to make the old world more relevant. Felwood seems the most logical of all, fel + night elf.Rikaku wrote:The corrupted is so cool. It's the one I'm wanting most as well (other than the Arcane model). Kunchong for hunter pets!
Thanks to Moonlost for the awesome avatar!
Re: New family : Feathermanes
I agree, if it's not in the BI, then Felwood makes the most sense both in location and coloration. But I'd scour the area around that corrupt druid tree in Blasted Lands too. No one much goes there, so it makes sense for a 'good place' to hide something scarce.
BTW: re the nest with Snowblind, does it despawn after you interact? Is the nest a 'rare spawn' or is it just a thing that anyone might trip over at any time?

Re: New family : Feathermanes
Friend and I have been scouring the database but haven't seen anything to point to a corrupted hippo.. Maybe it's in the ptr build being pushed today?
Right now I'm more motivated to go after the purple hippo, Netherbeak, since it is clearly in. Just no clue where. Nether... could be BC, or a number of Legion and Kalimdor zones :/ Maybe even Wrath - crystalsong? Though hippogryphs aren't that abundant there.

Not sure if anyone saw this comment by Muffinus but we might have a corrupted Hippogryph somewhere.
If this has been already mentioned sorry. Bit LTTP here.

Yep, we mentioned it a page or two back.
As far as we're aware, it isn't implemented yet. There are no mobs that are Corrupted Hippogryphs.

Re: New family : Feathermanes
I am very happy to announce that Wolfhawks have been officially added to 7.2! There are a total of three. The first one, Kveldulfnir, is located in a cave on the southern coast of the Eye of Azshara. As you can see, he is the blue one.
The neat thing about him is that he actually switches between running and flying
When moving, he'll run on all fours. When idle, he'll hover.

Kind of wish it was the opposite; that way less clipping issues, but oh well. Glad they're finally in.
