Re: Fenryr can be tamed!
I don't see why they would do that. Besides, I checked out HoV on Mythic during the PTR, after I noticed the tamable Fenryr in the database. There wasn't anything there. Us finding it early was, truly, a bug. Muffinus didn't realize how exactly they found it till later.
Re: Fenryr can be tamed!
A later tweet indicates it may be a temporary thing. It's apparently ok for now:

I'm feeling like this is a repeat of the Grimtotem Spirit Guide. .-.Wain wrote:A later tweet indicates it may be a temporary thing. It's apparently ok for now:

So basically those of us who can't run mythics cause we aren't as geared as most will again be out of luck this will be the second time I missed a pet the first was the baby direhorn during the legion invasions.

Re: Fenryr can be tamed!
You know it isn't going away, right? This isn't limited time. Eventually, you will have the gear to solo Mythic easily.
Re: Fenryr can be tamed!
It sounds more like they pre-empted the "Can we tame Fenryr in 8.0?!" questions that were inevitable by adding him to be tameable now by skilled hunters. Since dungeon and raid bosses usually can't be tamed until the following/second following expansion.

Re: Fenryr can be tamed!
At the very least I don't think this is a pet that is going to disappear permanently, it's obvious they went out of their way to make a special version tameable just for hunters. He may go away temporarily or be harder to obtain for a bit, unfortunately, but if you wait a bit you will be able to get him eventually! I know that doesn't make it any better for those wanting him right now, but it's something to keep in mind. Think of him like one of the raid bosses we had to wait until the next expansion to tame.

It has to be a solo run. You can't have any help.

Re: Fenryr can be tamed!
I suppose that gives me more of a reason to try to get geared enough. I assume regular mythic is enough? I'm sitting at only 863 right now, though Broken Shore is... slightly helping there.

Re: Fenryr can be tamed!
I am thinking of making a group in LFG is it even possible for an 855 hunter to tame this guy right now before they hotfix it where we have to solo cause by the time I can solo mythics it will be way past Legion since I don't run stuff a lot.

Re: Fenryr can be tamed!
Just finished taming Fenryr the way it was supposed to be done. The challenge wasn't too difficult - the trash were worse than Hymdall and Fenryr (boss)

Re: Fenryr can be tamed!
I sadly can't help until tomorrow after my doc appt which will be around 4-5p pacific, if you guys still need a hand and are able to go, as per the updated twit reply:
I have Ally or Horde Hunter.
I am very thankful this was found.
I don't mind helping anyone, to make a M0 HoV run... feel free to pm if interested.Solar @warcraftsolar

As is the trend with 7.2, looks like something didn't play nice on the back end. You can obtain it this way now, but don't bank on it forever

I am very thankful this was found.

Sorry couldn't help myself, feeling a little sassy today...Issuntril wrote:
- Hi Fierce,
While this feature of the Grimtotem Spirit Guide Fenryr wasn't exactly intended, it was agreed by the development team that this is a fun use of in-game mechanics, and we therefore have no plans to address this issue - it will still be possible in future for everyone who wishes to tame this NPC to do so.
I hope this alleviates your concerns!
Issuntril

But as Vephriel pointed out said so eloquently, this guy is obviously intended and hear to stay, just think of him like one of the raid bosses we had to wait until the next expansion to tame if your gear is not your strong point.

Re: Fenryr can be tamed!
Looks like we will potentially have a follow up from Solar, as to confirm if the unintended way of taming him, will or won't be addressed.

Two friends and I, all hunters, just did Mythic HoV. All we do now is wait half an hour, and we're good to run back in?
EDIT: I reset and ran in like an idiot, and all the trash is up. It'll be gone in half an hour, right? Or did I screw up?

Re: Fenryr can be tamed!
I's a 0 mythic, I think it can be done in 840 gear. At any rate I found 4-5 Hunter groups going at once in LRG. Mythic 0 is super easy and doesn't even require a healer if you have a geared tank. Go find one of those groups and get yourself a golden ruin butt wolfIowawolf wrote:So basically those of us who can't run mythics cause we aren't as geared as most will again be out of luck this will be the second time I missed a pet the first was the baby direhorn during the legion invasions.

Wow nice find! Not sure if I have time to squeeze this in tonight but I might try sweet talking a few folks into just speed running it so I can have the clear.
For those who can't find mythic groups due to ilvl, nothing says you can't just make your own group. Then you don't have to deal with someone else's requirements.
