Ongoing Search for the Spectral Gryphon

Possible, but considering that people did a major scan of everything without finding the gryphon, it's a pretty good chance that it's spawned still.

I wouldn't completely rule out keeping an eye out for a spawning item/feather. It *could* represent a dead end, but at the moment we're running on "I don't see anything better yet". :}

True, and at this point it almost has to be either spawned by an interactable item or by killing a bunch of mobs.

I was the one who made the video for the Snowblind gryphon. And thank you for the info on why it still had "not in game." I was just letting folks know that the nest wasn't always up and it since there was no video of it, I jumped in on it.

About our lost gryphon here, it does seem to be highly possible it too has a spawn item mechanic to it.

Is it possible one of the conditions for spawning the ghost gryphon and the fel hippogryph is a new world quest? like how they hid the little raptor pets behind the warden quests? Wowhead had a mention that new "class-specific world quests" are becoming available this week.

I would normally say 'doubtful', but it's possible. I strongly suspect against it, though, since it would potentially only be of use to one branch of said class, and potentially not even then.

Still, it actually wouldn't surprise me. It certainly would open up ways to put in tameables that would be harder to get hold of... and a way to tick some people off depending on how long the quests stayed viable.

Exactly. If you aren't able to get on during that time, you're out of luck. If it is a general mob that anyone can see, then people will definately grief by killing it over and over.

Well the Mind Worm was found today. I won't go into vast detail in case there are people who want to try and solve the riddles on their own, but the final location of the mount was on the beach. So I think its safe to say the hint that was left on twitter was indeed meant for the mount and not any of the pets.

I know of South Shore, checked that and didn't find anything to interact with.

What about flight paths inside instances?

Escape from durnhold keep is the first that comes to mind.

It's quite possible he was trolling. Some time ago he changed his Twitter banner to some very zen-looking stones. People were obsessed with it being a clue for something. It's possible it is but it's also quite likely he just liked the picture and is now having fun with it

Be careful. You'll encourage him again. He was trolling the Mind Worm seekers with the 'pebble obsession' for quite a while. Between that and AQ40, we have memes to last forever.

Not saying it's impossible, especially since they're white, but there was a lot of stuff added just to seemingly confuse people or give people something to play with (the Jinyu ruins, those pebbles)

I would ignore all the pebble talk from muffinus, like Kurasu said it was just him poking fun and teasing us in the discord concerning the worm. Because we were stuck on those pebbles (can be found all over streets of dalaran, super tiny and hard to see) for so long that it became a meme of sorts.

Odd thing is is I know for a fact I checked the database at launch and that was not on there. Neither was the spectral feather. I wonder if they showed up because someone found and interacted with them...much like how the worm pages were missing initially but are added now.

And these definitely aren't the eggs for the hunter mount quest. Those are marked as beast npcs, so we can track them. And I think they're called cracked eggshells anyways.

AHA! Between the Spectral Feather and that having very similar numbers (feather = 269775, eggshell = 269797) they were added much the same time, too.

I just got flying today and quicky went to the small caves in Stormheim, especially the ones near the broken Alliance Airship (Maybe some gryphons died in the crash and seek shelter in them as ghosts?).
Sadly i had no luck with that Idea.

If someone wants to look in difficult places on the broken isles and needs a ride, i´d be happy to help (EU-Servers only)

I've been looking too, though I've been checking the old world more than the Broken Isles. At first I thought maybe it'd be Broken Isles, in some weird flying-only area, since it'd explain why we haven't been able to find it. But once I heard about the feather.... I've been flying for awhile now and haven't seen any feathers (though I did look for anything that stood out lol). But it still may be out there, somewhere. I did a pretty thorough re-check of places I know others looked, but it couldn't hurt right? lol Stormheim & Eye of Azshara (non-instance) especially.

But once I get home from work I'm going back to recheck the old world areas that don't already have Gryphon rares or Spirit Beasts in them. I feel like we're not likely to have 2 of those in the same region, BUT YOU NEVER KNOW.

I have a feeling someone will find it soon though GL all!
