It is hotfixed that no future spawns will be tamable. Only those that were alive prior to the hotfix are still tamable, but I'm not sure how many of those there are. But for certain, they'll all be gone when resets hit.

I love the look, I do know on "fair" settings the eyes show haven't used low settings yet... but I'm into creepy things... Hoping we get to keep these cutey pies... only time will tell of course...

PSA: They ALSO hotfixed it so as well as not being tamable any non druids get teleported out of the dreamway (and other order halls) so this pet is 100% unobtainable now.

Hope they let us keep them, I was able to get both thanks to having free time when this started, though you never know with Blizzard. Got some whispers from a hunter in game that he reported the pets because that it was an exploit, smh.

I'm glad a lot of people were able to snag these guys while they were available! Some very clever teamwork went into obtaining them, and while neither of them appealed to me enough to want to tame them for myself, I do think the fire scorpids at the least should be available in the future since they're such beautiful models.

My personal feeling is that, if anything, the fire scorpids should probably be safe since they're not too different from other tameable scorpids, just a fancy new model (that's already been put to use on regular beasts). I actually wouldn't be surprised if they ended up as a tameable model in a future expansion.

The wolf puppy I'm more iffy on, but then again they never removed the baby direhorns (which honestly surprises me), so it's hard to say!

Even if this could be considered an exploit, I don't feel it was a harmful one in any way, so crossing my fingers that no one gets in trouble for it!

I know this isn't the case but I don't see how it could be seen as an exploit, as it's just "my warlock friend summoned me and showed me these really cool pets to tame." I know we had to do a little trick to get the warlock there in the first place, but as far as the hunter getting there it was simply accepting a warlock summon. Why would they be flagged as tamable in the first place is my question.

So in my eyes the only "exploit" is the warlock getting there initially, but even then it was nothing that they couldn't normally do (RaF summon).

Sadly Vahlka, an exploit is an exploit, unintended or not. The zones are meant for Druid/Shaman ONLY. The warlock being there, and summons being given out, is the exploit. Receiving the summons isn't as much, but it's still seen as being an accomplice and willing participant in an exploit. The random tameable flag was just a bonus in this case. I've been banned twice for participating in exploits before. One was entirely harmless and accidental (opening a pet battle bag 100+ times due to lag = tons of loot), the other was fully willing (insta kill pvp glitch that doesn't work anymore). Clearly I deserved it for the latter one, but the former was 100% accidental. Did they care? Nope, 3 day ban.

It should go without saying that exploits should only be risked if you don't worry for your account's safety. It's a miracle that glitch pets didn't get removed, since they're TECHNICALLY exploits (unintended behavior), and it's even more miraculous that the direhorn babies stayed (again, clearly an exploit with abuse of game mechanics). The devs have been nice to hunter-related glitches outside of obviously bad ones, such as the slime, grubs, and baby horns, but it's still active participation in ToS-breaking activity.

Just keep that in mind, is all. Doing this willingly or not is still seen as an exploit, and it just takes one grumpy GM catching you to can your account for a few days/weeks.

How can you open a bag over 100 times and not notice? Lag or not, normally I click something ~5 times before I realize I'm lagging and stop. In what way is accepting a summon from a warlock and taming a pet against the ToS? Their ToS specifically says that exploits are "to obtain a competitive advantage over other players", and the pets are not bugged to do more damage or anything similar.

You also say that getting over 100 bags worth of loot is "harmless", which is not the case as you are generating items into the game which would not have been there unless you did that.

A 'coolness' advantage maybe haha, but 100% not a competitive advantage.

I would say it's an "exploit" in the sense of using an unexpected game mechanic to obtain something unintended, but it's clearly not in the same class as exploits that advance a character or harass others. It was always highly unlikely that Blizzard would take action against anyone who did this, but instead just fix the code.

Well...i just happen to find the critter reading about the new spectral faction tames after reading a comment *where it was meantioned..and i quickly googled it and found a group in game doing it shortly after*

If my curiosity for the pet didn't get the best of me, i would never have found out about it..or the scorp. There have been rumors among my friends that the 2 faction tames might be removed or changed. *hopefully not*
