Lore wise, they go to a nice place, protected and all that. Gameplay, they are deleted from the server. ^^'
If you worry that this accident may happen again, you can "lock" your favorite lions, it disable the options to chase/kill them. It's the tiny option "secure lion" on their page.
On news from my pride, I finally got a mutie! Sadly, it wasn't the baby primal that I wanted but a folded ears. Ah well, it will be some money I guess.
