Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Hyenas definitely got one hell of a good update. I'm having trouble deciding which one I'd want, but mainly because I need to see them next to my character in game. Same goes for the Gorillas, which I likely won't take any other than A-ME-02. Speaking of, I need to go tame that again.
EDIT: I just went through the Tarantula skins, and I noticed my favorite one is gone. The grey tarantula once was blind (white eyes), and that was the best part of them. Now they're basic black like the rest. Boo.

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
It is early, so if enough people point it out, then I'm sure Blizz will fix it
Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Yeah, the hyaena model is nice. It's just that when it comes to skin art that is intended to update an older model I don't get why some artists go for a true update and others go "fuck it, my new art style is better". Several of the skins (especially red and canary yellow) look unnatural and plastic to me, more like something from Heroes of the Storm. If it wasn't a replacement I wouldn't care, though - variety is good. But at least the model itself is nice, unlike the initial bear model replacement in Legion, which was horribly broken at the time as well as having skins that looked nothing like the originals.

Is the new brown hyena meant to replace the old orange? If so, is the new black one meant to replace... old brown?

It's entirely possible that we don't have all of the color variants yet. Hopefully there are still some to be added or will be after feedback.

I will definitely be taming the Gila Komodo! I see them every now and then down here in AZ and I've always liked them
Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Agreed. Me too. I already loved the Komodo models, but the fact that they have so many great skins just seals the deal.Valnaaros wrote:I will definitely be taming the Gila Komodo! I see them every now and then down here in AZ and I've always liked them
As an aside, WoWhead now has the new models up on their site, so you can go to the hunter pets section and check the models out on your own. They still show the old icons, but once you click on them, they load the new ones.

Nice! I've only ever seen them in zoos. I'd love to be able to see one in the wild.Valnaaros wrote:I will definitely be taming the Gila Komodo! I see them every now and then down here in AZ and I've always liked them
Also, I'm glad we are getting a proper hippo model. Riverbeasts never set well with me, with the gaping mouth an awkward tail. The new hippo looks loads better, I think!

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
I think they may have made a new hippo since the one on Draenor wasn't all that popular. Wasn't really a true hippo.

DO YOU LOVE ME?

Seriously though, who designed this? Because it's so dumb that it's funny.

It doesn't look dumb when its mouth is closed, but then it gets this really weird look when it is open
Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
I imagine it having Beavis's laugh.

Aye, it does look like a Compy, it's just the expression of the face.

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
I doubt compies looked like anorexic chickens. These guys have like no meat on their bones, and the big googly eyes on top of the stick figure body makes them hilarious to look at. Plus, they look like Jurassic Park compies, not real ones; real ones are made of bone and museum dust after all!Tomb wrote:Doesn't look dumb at all. Looks like a compy!

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
I see nothing wrong with them aside from the eyes maybe being a bit bigger, but that's just WoW.

I really hope this shows in more colors in the wild. So in love
Same with the tiger loa, though doubtful

The Tiger Loa is probably Shirvallah, whom grants Troll Druids their Cat Form.

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Oh there's a ton of new hawk/falcon skins now over on MMO-C! Ahhhh I'm so happy, I've been bored of the plain eagle model for a long time though, I've always wanted birds with more patterns in their feathers like true hawks.
