8.1 has just deployed and is being datamined. One of the firsts models found is a Capybara!!

Also, damn, do I wish Blizzard could make aquatic hunter pets a thing. I would love to tame a mosasaurus.

Tallstriders look amazing!! What an update, I'm so pleased. (at least, with the purple, which is my favourite, but it's a shame turquoise didn't keep its orange belly!)

Also loving that new rylak colour.

Agreed about the orange belly. I really liked how colorful those were, and it's odd all the others kept their colors. But, I'm willing to overlook it because they look so amazing otherwise

Belatedly realized this means the Tallstrider mounts will get these models too, I'll be much more excited to ride around on them looking like that!

I'm hoping there are a lot more nightsaber skins coming out. these ones look nice, but they're very mono-tone without any stripes, spots or manes

I now have a VERY mighty need to get me a Tallstrider. I hated how they had such lame models, but now that they look like straight up Terror Birds, I am absolutely enraptured by them. I love murder birds. The Nightsaber models look amazing as well, and it gives me hope for my red lynx to finally get its much deserved update. The Veruka Rylak isn't that nice, and I wouldn't consider it twice.


Capybara is totally gonna be a Rodent we can tame; it'd be a sin not to be. Though, considering the majority of the expansion so far...

Looking at the Capybara, it's hard to say whether it'll be tamable or not. The texture quality (particular around the feet and face) isn't the best. Might be intended as a battle pet.

Same here. Apparently it's a boss. It's on the MMO-Champion frontpage and has a custom skeleton, which is why I feel it will not have a tameable equivalent. Custom animations meaning lack of swimming, etc.

Yeah, it is the model of King Grong in the Burning of Zuldazar raid. King Grong is a Loa, so he will most likely not be tamable nor ever will be. Could have the model be given to something else, though it'll have to have work done on it.

Yeah, if given the right animations and with that one eye fixed, it could easily make a cool gorilla model to be tamed, in my opinion.

I wonder if the nightsaber is going to be used as an update. Unfortunately I can't datamine right now - off to take my nephews out for Pokemon Go community day. I'll look into it later today and see if there are any configurable features on the nightsaber. I'm hoping it will have optional geosets to make it into a frostsaber too.

Possibly. The current ones seem to fit as replacements for already existing Nightsabers (not perfect, but not terrible).
