Echeyakee is going!

I just read on WoW.com that Echeyakee(forgive me if I've mis-spelled his name),will be gone from the Barrens when Cata launches.

I think he's going away,anyway....from what I read,it seemed that his name came up an awful lot. A lot of hunters are talking about getting him,so there might be some truth to it. And the screenshots I've seen of the barrens seem to indicate a huge shift in the landscape...just not sure if where he spawns is going to be affected.

And,to be honest,I don't trust Blizzard as far as I can throw them. We all remember the debacle that was the Spirit Guide's.

So,IF this is true,and I'm about 80% convinced it is,any other hunter going to tame him before Cata launches? Hell,I'm even willing to give up Aotoona's stable slot for Echeyakee....yes,he's that good looking,where I would release the only tameable parrot in the game for yet another kitty.

There is no confirmation on that yet, the WoW.com writers were merely speculating on possible changes that could occur.

We'll know for sure once Beta starts and the NDA is lifted. There'll be plenty of time to find out the fates of our beloved pets before it's too late.

I'm leveling a baby hunter just so I can tame endangered pets. That beautiful white lion was one of my tames, along with the ghost saber.

It's funny, I read the story and didn't see it as a warning that Echayakee was disappearing but rather that quest rewards were. I mean, he might very well be, but it seemed like more of a warning to do lowbie quests now if you want particular items...

@Dewclaw....I'm Alliance,so Echeyakee will be a special tame for me..lol...and my baby hunter has the Ghost Saber,too...beautiful kitty!
Grats on your tames,btw...took me 2 solid hours looking for that Ghost Saber.......damn figurines....

Lol, that's about how long it too me. I was thoroughly frustrated by the time it finally spawned. I kept aggroing all the mobs in the area and stopping and killing them made it harder to find figurines.

I'm using my little troll hunter Shamoke to grab all the rare ones I can. I got a ghostsaber and echeyakee and a white wind serpent form thousand needles along with Ressan the needler. I'm hoping to get a diseased bear,but I'm not sure if I can lvl him up in time. I hope they have white diseased ones, its kind of a theme with him.

Trust me, as soon as Cataclysm is in beta and the NDA is down, my minions (aka you guys) will be scouring all of Azeroth to figure out which creatures are in danger. And we'll post about any removals everywhere we can to warn other hunters. IN ALL CAPS if we have to!

Cannot wait for the NDA to be up. Here's hoping we get our extra stable slots BEFORE cata hits so we have the chance to obtain the potentially endangered/extinct pets.

I'm still highly worried about the Tallstriders -- not just Mazz or the Clutch Mother, but all. Seems like all zones where they appear (as they are a vanilla-only-type-of-pet) will be drastically changing.

I DO know that someone... whomayormaynotbeinalpha, gave me worrisome predictions when I sent her on a quest to look up a few pets and vanity pets. :/

Hoping they're just not yet in the game/will be moved around.

Funny you should mention the tallstriders. We know that the purple in the outlands are safe.

But I also don't think most of the others are. I've seen SS of the Barrens and the only beast I've seen in those SS's are the purple raptors. So, I'm speculating, either they're going to be gone or relocated. I'm fearful they'll be gone.
