8.2 Beasts

the lizards look...awfully underbudget. The fins are almost certainly completely 2D, which is a mistake when slapped on a 3D model. Looks like wolf animations too, though I could be wrong and hope I am.

The rays look nice, but my god can't they take better images? Flat things don't look that good when viewed at that sort of plane. Angle em a bit!

Was looking through the WoWHead database update...found this under beasts...Nothing but a name yet! But could it be a new Spirit Beast?!! Spirit Tidestallion

Potentially! We'll have to wait and see. We don't have access to Nazjatar yet so there isn't any way we can check if it is a special mob or if it is just a generic one.

It's not 100% the same, but bobbit worms don't have quite the same side-lobed look as this thing does. They've got leggy bits down their sides. The lobes on this one are smaller, but still similar, I feel. The antennae also remind me just a touch of their eyes.

So less a straight-up translation of one and more inspiration. It's still a worm, it just kinda looks like anomalocaris to me.

I know it's folly to hope for it, but I'm still hoping that we get some kind of crustacean silithid, or maybe a shrimp silithid? Peacock mantis shrimp-silithid cross?

You know, like Kunchong were to Pandaria.

Probably the same as the spiky crabs we have now. AKA, Blizzard will forget to let them hold one.

Also, I am absolutely sold on the black and blue one now because it reminds me of Metroid Prime. Just wish there was a black one with white highlights and a red face.

Could be. The Tidal Guardians, Snapdragons, Spider Crabs, Shark Rays, etc. would all be considered aquatic beasts, so they might be what he is referring to.
