Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Part of me hopes that when the crystal scorpids are fixed to be tameable, they stay "broken". As in, if you F6 them on PTR, you'll see they are missing their stinger for whatever reason. I think that'd be a fun quirk for them to have. I won't be upset if they fix them though.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
I want my grubs since my banned hunter from 8 years ago had a gorishi grub and I wanted a grub for almost a decade, and I hope the red and black ardenweald toad become tameable, same with the greater gorms, gotta get one

As it stands, as long as they get rid of the family restrictions i'm more than happy with this stuff.
I don't actually know why grubs aren't allowed AS hunter pet's really. Always been one of those weird ones, since we can have caterpillars.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
That’s true, grubs are perfect pets, they would be perfect for my forsaken hunter following an undead theme that will be easier in SL, right now is a pain, and hopefully grubs will be added and I hope someday Serrath the gluttonous will be on my side, and I hope Blizz adds ardenweald theme cats cuz I don’t feel like the nightsabers fit there due to how normal they are compared to other beasts there, I hope I can have an ardenweald themed cat as a petDannyGreen wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 1:43 pm As it stands, as long as they get rid of the family restrictions i'm more than happy with this stuff.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
I don't know what their previous reason was, but right now I imagine (as I claimed before, sorry for being a broken record) it has to do with the worm family ability being to dig underground and the BfA updated classic maggot models not having such animations because they're built on the crocolisk/basilisk rig.
However.. don't krolusks have the ability to dig?

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Krolusks do have that ability, and they share very similar animations with crocs and basilisks.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Then they could probably port that to the new worms and make them tameable.WerebearGuy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 4:31 pm Krolusks do have that ability, and they share very similar animations with crocs and basilisks.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Right now the new grubs use basilisk skeleton, cuz the crocolisk skeleton is very stiff and their run is smoother, and it’s odd that they don’t burrow like the krolusks which also have the basilisk skeletonQraljar wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 4:51 pmThen they could probably port that to the new worms and make them tameable.WerebearGuy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 4:31 pm Krolusks do have that ability, and they share very similar animations with crocs and basilisks.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
That could be an issue for Gormlings being tamable. They currently use the crocolisk animations, which do not include a burrowing animation.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Today, luckily ptr let me copy the character I got banned on many years ago that had the grub, here he is
And sorry for the quality, took a pic on snapchat, ah, the memories when he was a giant worm, I was only 12 so I didn’t realize why I got banned until after a while, don’t attack me cuz I have another account
Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Krolusks and the new maggots were introduced around the same time, but it's possible that one was developed before the other. There have been a few cases of creatures sharing the same skeletal base but not having the same animations.worgpower wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 6:38 pmRight now the new grubs use basilisk skeleton, cuz the crocolisk skeleton is very stiff and their run is smoother, and it’s odd that they don’t burrow like the krolusks which also have the basilisk skeletonQraljar wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 4:51 pmThen they could probably port that to the new worms and make them tameable.WerebearGuy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 4:31 pm Krolusks do have that ability, and they share very similar animations with crocs and basilisks.

I feel naive at this point, but I am still holding out hope for a tamable Al'ar. A phoenix would be so perfect for my Blood Elf....

That would make a perfect spirit beast, if we can have teroclaws and hellhounds, why notClayford13 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 1:24 pm I feel naive at this point, but I am still holding out hope for a tamable Al'ar. A phoenix would be so perfect for my Blood Elf....
Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Phoenixes are probably not coming this time, but I still have hopes we'll see them (and firehawks) one day

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Yeah, we have a billion tameables already, almost every beast is available for taming, except soul eaters, and I think this Xpac is the most creative with beasts like we’ve never seen winged lions or bird horses, or even soulseekers, most previous xpacs only had new versions of older beasts and that’s sad, everyone already expected new wolves or cats or bears in the previous expansions

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Speaking of that, where ARE the new cats and wolves? I feel cheated! Lairons were changed to be feathermanes, so they no longer count.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
I am glad that the Shale Worms became tamable and I really hope that the Azerite Shale Worm becomes available. I would absolutely love an Azerite version of the Shale Spider too. I was always disappointed that there was never a blue one available.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Agreed, so much. Though sadly, the azerite spiders are just yellow spiders with bits of azerite strung to them, so even if they became tameable, they'd lose the azerite since it's not part of the model. It's 2020, and we already have enough disappointment; this thing where beasts losing parts that are added on should not be a thing anymore.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
A really cool new addition to the Serpent family. The Shadow of Dambala is spawned by the Loa Dambala during the Night Fae only quest "Cleansing the Forest". It retains the spectral purple effect after taming. Somewhat noticable in the screenshot is that the cobra can be most obviously seen at its head, and its form gradually fades away as you go down the body and toward the tail.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
I think I still have those grubs that were available many years ago. Anything happening to those?
