Yeah, it's not an update applied to the old model, and there's no reason for them to add a new Warp Stalker model out in the wild, so it probably won't be available until somebody at Blizzard finally gets the idea to make it tameable somewhere 3 expacs from now.

It's probably there because they made a Warp Stalker mount for 9.1 to go with the low-res one that was datamined for TBC Classic. Like I said, I hope they just sprinkle some wild mobs with the new model somewhere in Outland or whatever.

There will probably be a Devourer family added. The best fits would be these, animites, and gorgers.

It is possible that the Warp Stalkers will be updated in a later build. When the Owlsteeds were added in a Beta build, they didn't immediately the original stags in Bastion with the Owlsteed. It took a build or two before that happened.

That's true. But because the new Warp Stalker model is so different (really good, but different) from the OG, I have a feeling it won't overwrite the old.

Gotta admit, I'm loving the yellow "bear" the most. The red one's nice, but fairly muted. The green one stands out, but it's not very eye-catching. The black one is just bland, as most black beasts tend to be.

They probably aren't going to stay bears. Aside from using the same rigging, they aren't at all like bears. It isn't uncommon that things are misclassified early in testing, especially since a taming pass hasn't happened yet. They probably will be in Scalehides.

Hoping the Necroflies make it in as wasps (yes I know they aren't wasps but neither are bees and Eldritch Squid Insects) and also the Gorloc-type Korthia mobs. Not sure what they could be.. maybe lizard? The bears in Scalehides definitely fits.

And as I said, I hope we get those new Warp Stalkers as tameables. They're so good.

I don't think Scalehide would fit. Do they have scales? They have rough looking skin and thick plates, but keep in mind there's a mammal that has armor called a pangolin. Bear is definitely a weird choice, but an alien bear being a bear is perfectly sensible. The salamanders are definitely an odd one, but I'd say toad. That's the closest thing to them, assuming they're amphibians. I'm hoping the warp stalkers can be put onto the old ones, because they deserve the upgrade.

Wasps, bees, Aqir, and the flies (assuming they are tameable) should get a new family name. Buzzers would be a humorous fit.

Oh the pigs / boars look so good! Not a huge pig fan but I hated the low rez textures. These look so nicely updated!

I really hope they add it to tamable mobs and it isn't just for the mount... Like the Llothien Prowler only having a mount version even though there are foxes using the non-mount model in Org that we can't tame =/

I too really, really, really hope they add in skins that the old Warp Stalker model had as well or it'll be a real waste of potential. Imagine how nice that dark purple and fel green skin would look in HD.
