Re: The strangeness of the kitties (or other pets you have)
Oh my goodness, this entire thread has had me giggling.
I wouldn't say our animals are too unusual, but... I'd say the cats are one exception. Funny how cats seem to be the most colourful characters, huh?
Mitten is a grey and white longhaired cat. We spontaneously adopted her when we saw her scale the walls of her cage, get to the top, and hang there upside down. She's also got a very... unique way of greeting us. She'll stop. Stare. Flop on the ground, roll around, and let out a loud "MMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE". She's also learned that once someone sits down on the toilet, they can't escape her when she starts biting their toes. She's rather picky when it comes to cuddles as well. Do we feel like giving her some love? "Nope, sorry, I'm outta here.". Are we busy doing something? "LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME". She will literally climb onto you (especially if you're sitting down) if she wants attention and you're not giving it to her. She also sits directly in front of the computer screen if it's in use.
Bella is a black tabby cat. We found her starving and dehydrated in an old ghost town while we were vacationing in the Okanogan. Naturally, we had to take her in - she was just a wee little kitten, and there was also a huge storm due that night. I'm sure the poor little thing would've died that night if we hadn't come. She doesn't have a whole lot of strange habits, with one exception: She always wants someone to watch her eat. Yes, just stand there and watch her while she munches away. If we leave she'll run after us and meow until we come back. I have no idea how she developed such a weird habit.

Yes, I do in fact. I have to trick her into leaving the bathroom in the morning so that I can put my contacts in. Otherwise she walks all over the counter purring and rubbing up against me, right in my way. And when I'm trying to brush my teeth, she flicks her tail around my face and I end up getting cat tail in my toothpaste.Teigan wrote:Does anyone else have "bathroom cats" or other "bathroom animals"? If you have one, you know what I mean! Our two girl cats love us most in the bathroom. Turtle loves us anyway, but especially in the bathroom. And she is obsessed with the hairbrush. Perper is a Jykll and Hyde routine. Outside the bathroom she is a brittle, angry, growly thing. In the bathroom, she's all purrs and love.
But, she's pretty affectionate outside the bathroom as well.

I'm going to be a combo breaker and talk about dogs.
My older dog (Lilli) is a real fun killer at times. :P She just can't stand it when I play hide and seek with our younger dog, Saana.
I was just running around in the yard with Saana and when she ran really far away, I quickly hid behind a corner while Lilli was staring at us like maniacs. Saana came back looking at me, all confused.. Apparently Lilli had had enough at that point, as she stood up and JUMPED from behind the corner, letting out a loud bark and scaring the heck out of me. >.< She enjoys showing Saana where I'm hiding at but that's a bit too much. :P
Saana is quite a water beast - we can't have a water bowl down without her splashing it all around the floor every now and then. >.< Usually when she's really thirsty, she goes to the bowl, splashes the water around and only then drinks it, while still standing in it.
Also if Saana is in the mood for play, she will go and repeatedly step on Lilli's tail, scratch her back and do all sorts of annoying stuff just to piss her off. I'm positive she's a masochist, as when Lilli gets really angry at her, she will just start spinning around excitedly and bug Lilli even more.

My little black kitty, Sabbath, seems to hate it when someone puts his/her hand on a wall.....he will lie in wait staring at the hand....then he'll spring up against the wall to remove the "5 headed wall ninja"
We sometimes call him Spidercat for this XD
