I tamed the Clutchmother

Unread post by Hada »

Tallstriders were a pet I never really considered...but joining these boards and seeing all the talk of them, they grew on me. With the possibility that the Clutchmother won't be around for Cataclysm, I knew I had to tame her!

I actually tamed Snort the same day, and loved him quite a bit, but there was no other pet I was willing to let go to get the Clutchmother...so, figuring Snort or at least other purple hyenas will be safe in Cataclysm, I set out to Darkshore. Silverdragon went off and there was the Clutchmother! After a quick hug and a promise to my hyena that I'd find him again, I let him go and then tamed her. She has such a fun personality already.

I named her Alouette. I've decided to start a naming theme with Hada's pets and use both Mythology and Literature names. I figured Alouette is a bit of a stretch (the French children's song), but not too far off. And I love the irony of it, since "alouette" is actually a skylark, yet a tallstrider is a vastly different type of bird. She also makes me get the song stuck in my head, which might become annoying after a while but it just adds to that playful charm she has. :D

Grats. She's my favorite tallstrider and I LOVE the name you picked out! :D
When I was a kid, my brother and I had a tape of French Canadian Voyageur songs that we'd gotten up in Canada. Even though none of us spoke French we could sing them all. :) "Alouette" was one of our favorites. We used to go on canoe trips up in Canada (which is were the tape came from originally) and would sing the old Voyageur songs when we were paddling. :)

I'm torn myself, because I recently let the Strider Clutchmother go to tame Rak'shiri. Now, come to find out, it appears the Strider Clutchmother is gone in the beta. I wouldn't be surprised if Blizz put some other turquoise strider skins in somewhere else, but it's not the same. So, hopefully they give us expanded stables before Cataclysm, so I can get her back. I really don't want to release Rak'shiri, because I like her. :(

Amen sister! It also wouldn't surprise me if Blizz just wiped her out completely to. I'm not being paranoid because I know they've done this kind of crap before.

Grats on the tame! ;)

I hope you and alouette have very nice adventures together :3

Congrats.

I expect a lot of hunters to tame Clutchmother before cata. I still get kind of jealous at other hunters having her since I used to be the only one I knew that had her back in vanilla when tallstriders where pretty much useless but I love her, heh.
