10.2 Guardians of the Dream: Beasts Thread

I saw Petopia tweet out about an item to tame the fire owl.

Is it confirmed it comes from the raid, or just speculating at the moment?

I do hope if it does, it's available in LFR though. Locking a druid form behind Mythic Raid AND getting it to drop (post Dragonflight when it's not 100%), is bad enough. Doing it to a hunter pet too would be downright stupid.

We currently have no clue on where it comes from. It's hopeful thinking that the item is easily available through rep (similar to lesser dragonkin taming), and there's no evidence of it dropping from the raid yet. I don't think they'd make us do the raid just to tame one pet, but then again they did it with blood beasts in Battle for Azeroth. With LFR opening up earlier than normal, we'll hopefully find out if it's from the raid (and available from LFR) no later than December 12th. Hopefully sooner since it really shouldn't be from the raid at all, but still.

Astera is finally implemented the wait and meme is over, It is the Displaced Bristlebruin even though it doesnt state her name in it's wild state, I killed a green one and got the green one, btw I saved the bear knife from the last build kek

Glad the wait is over, I just saw a fire brown displaced bristlebruin just now, that must be the black one, dreamsaber bug is still present, fire cats are still untameable, and I’ll be looking out for more creatures

Astera still doesn’t have her name despite having the knife, it’s still displaced bristlebruin so it’s still a meme at this point
This is how it went
Bears dropping saber hearts -> bear hearts becoming stag thorns -> bear knife with no function -> name change not present

Those look awesome for a hunter pet even though they’re not actually serpents, it’s funny how those are tameable but fire cats and tanned skulkers aren’t

It's very likely an unintended tame that will get fixed, don't hope too much that they'll stay until LIVE, considering the circumstances.

Those eels have been shown to be able to be on land or water. These ones, outside of battle pets, have only been shown to survive in the water (as far as I can recall).

I mean, they also gave us **DEEP SEA** eels in Nazjatar that realistically should have died without water. So I don't think underwater creatures work the same way in-game as real life.

Oh nah, it's okay! I know that if something is posted to Petopia prior to a Live drop it's got a really high chance to get snipped but they're, y'know, eels, so I personally don't have a high attachment to em Just a fun find to play around with on the PTR. The red one has really cool particles the others don't iirc.

I wish. There are skunks classed as beasts in brown, two kinds of black, and red, and they could have been made tameable, but I get the impression the devs don't want them to be. I don't know why, though.
