Because I had that earlier when I stopped trying. I just figured the game was telling me to stop chasing frog booty.

And yes, I found that the NPCs at my immediate landing area were visible, but the rest of the island was completely empty. Happened multiple times so I stopped.

Reading about Uldir being unavailable on Beta so people could not check Fetid Devourer. But it is an Aberration on Live, so I checked it's tooltip with the API on Beta, and behold. Fetid Devourer was changed to be a Beast.

That should mean that it is tameable, I doubt they will change it to a be a Beast otherwise. Below is the /dump command with the API call to get the tooltip of the npc with the ID 133298, which is Fetid Devourer.

/dump C_TooltipInfo.GetHyperlink("unit:Creature-0-0-0-0-133298-0")

The /dump command might not work on first try if your client hasn't cached the mob but after the first call you should have it cached after a second or two.

That is an incredibly useful macro. Time to spend an hour or three checking a bunch of other NPCs for potential (and much needed) changes!

I was looking at this thread and thought "what about Rezan?". He was made tameable, as an undead it requires the ability to tame them.

Confirmed it, just in case it was a tooltip issue. He is indeed exotic like all devilsaurs, and does NOT retain his name.



I was able to tame him as Survival though. This happened in Dragonflight alpha/beta too. I could tame Exotics as Survival/Marksman, but not use them, but that feature disappeared on live.

I checked Blackwater Behemoth since they've been making eels tameable, but sadly it's a no.

Some neat coding behind how you can check a pet's family by looking at the files. Props to Mat for taking the time to explain it in the Secret Finder's Discord. Fetid Devourer is essentially confirmed to be a tameable hydra with this information. Of course, this could very well change to a more fitting pet family later, much like how shardhides from Korthia were once bears prior to being classified as scalehides. Once Uldir is finally functioning on the beta, you can bet I'll be voicing my opinion through feedback. Fetid should totally be a blood beast.

When I first saw all the colors on Wowhead, I told myself that with my hunter, I would take the black lynx and amber lynx !

Another neat addition to the lineup of BfA tames, T'zala is now tameable. If you forgot who this is, it's the mount that the final boss of King's Rest rides in phase two. As evident in the screenshot, it also retains its name.

From GarroshTV in the secret finders discord, both versions of Grong are now tameable.





Uldir is currently not available on beta so we can't check fetid.

I'm curious if there will be a way for horde to tame the zombie one.
On this question, is the fetid devourer tamable?

There's currently no known way for either faction to get the opposite Grong model, other than shelling out an unreasonable amount of real money for an overpriced faction change. Hopefully that changes. Fetid Devourer can't be tested since Uldir is broken and can't be zoned into right now, but if you read further up, I posted some info from the secret finder discord that all but confirms Fetid is tameable as a hydra.

I have thought of a way. In TWW alliance and horde you will be able to raid/dungeon together IF the group is full.
If that applies to the Lfr of the Zuldazar raid, you would only need 29 other people, the leader being one of your opposing faction so that to help you out to tame the opposing "faction".

Unfortunately BFD is not able to do cross faction, the best solution is if new npcs are created, and spawn after killing or taming the boss, like fenryr except like this

Alliance - after Killing or taming grong the revenant, a tameable npc with the opposite model and name spawns = Grong
Horde - after killing or taming Grong, a tameable npc will spawn = Grong the Revenant

Edit 2: Decided to delete this report since it ended up being a big ol nothingburger. TL;DR On PTR 55478 build, I was able to zone into Uldir and found Fetid was still an untameable abomination. HOWEVER Grong (Horde version) was also not tameable on that build. I think all this means is the PTR has not gotten these pet changes yet. I got baited by the higher PTR build number (PTR 55478 vs Beta 55399) and assumed it would contain these changes

Unfortunately I can't tame undead on the Beta, but I suppose I can go farm the journal so I can check these out.

Also, new Island Expedition islands up with the weekly reset, but as far as I can tell none of them are known to host any rare toads Unless I've missed one.

I was able to confirm undead grong. Taming him seems to lock the instance.

I was lucky enough to copy data at the start of beta lol.

Wonder why character data copying hasn't been enabled since then. Really sucks because I wanna have a trial run of those things at my side while I do other beta stuff lol. Oh well, at least they're confirmed. Wish Wowhead would hurry up and update their database though, been outdated for the entire current build.

It really sucks for the pet community. A lot of people want to test the pet tamers but can't because most people have no pets.

I have pets, but I also haven't really touched beta. After having to go all-in for the DF alpha/beta due to being on the CC, I wanted a break from testing stuff/being spoiled.

I ran around BoD after killing Grong this time (he resets after 30 minutes outside of the instance after taming), and looked to see if maybe the other Grong spawned somewhere, but no dice.

Though wasn't Grong outdoors somewhere in Zuldazar?

With grong have you tried: killing more bosses and then coming back to the raid kinda like that wolf pet.

Zoning into the raid with a costume of the other faction.

I didn't see this hard confirmed in-game on this thread yet. As of Beta build 55522, Fetid Devourer is tameable as a Hydra. I put a snip of the beast lore tooltip on the screenshot.
