honest to god, and i don't care about the incoming flames or everyone's opinion; i don't mind it.
i actually enjoyed the movies. the first two anyway (though i do think jacob is a little whiney bitch, and bella isn't a smart girl.)

i like drama filled crap. so meh. everyone has their own opinion.

i don't know what's more sad though, the fact that it's not a well written book and is pretty practical, or the fact that people feel the need to gather around to mock something cuz they share the same opinion(hatred for something).
it's cool that people have their opinions and stuff, but i don't know why everyone thinks they need to gather together to bash and hate something.

I'm not defending twilight by any means.
i don't mind it, i liked watching it, but it's not my family or something, i don't care about it lol.
i don't know. maybe i just think it's sad that one of the things that brings people together is the fact that they all have to hate on something :/

Oh....

See? This just further proves the point that someone once told me. I have the skill of making logical explanations that are wrong. I'll say something is definitely wrong, if the person knows what they're talking about, but if they don't they'll happily believe me because it makes sense. Necromancing totally made sense in my mind, too...

And to be fair, I only read the Twilight series to see what was so big about it, and then just so I could mock it. My friends were all, "It gets better!" and I'm like, "What the frak is wrong with you people? Seriously."

Dizzy that was a bit out of left field oO
If anyone does NOT like to see people gather to bash a popular book or movie then don't clickie the thread with a title that clearly warns what is in it. /end derail

So Dizzy, people coming together to talk about something they all hate is a bad thing?

You are free to like or dislike what you please. But so are we. So there is a thread about it. Is it really bothering you? If so, then don't read.

I hate Twilight because it's a badly written novel, and no amount of movie can make something go from bad to good. I feel that they portray a very unhealthy form of relationship to our youth, and I don't really like that so many young girls want to be Bella, who is nothing but a stuck up little bitch. It is the WORST form of Mary Sueism EVER, and the whole thing just reads like a bad vampire fic, which is essentially what it is. It is an embarassment to written media.

Visual media too. The movies are better, yes, but they still suck.
A lot.

People say I'M SO TIRED OF HEARING PPL TALK ABOUT TWILIGHT UGH JUST SHUTUP.

But to be honest, I've heard more people complain about twilight than I've heard people love it. People will hate things just to hate them, *and I would bet that a ton of twilight haters haven't read the books at all. If twilight wasn't so popular and pushing the spotlight away from their favorite (and probably far more shitty) pet book series or movie, barely anyone would hate it. It's really far more amusing to hear people rage about it like what they say is actually going to change how popular it is.

BUT GOOD TRY.

*edited for great justice.

So your point is that I hate Twilight, not because of the crimes against literature listed earlier in this thread, but because the books I usually read, that, by the way, score much better on reviews than the Twilight series, sucks?

Yeah. Likely.

If you've actually read the book and hate it because of the content, then do what you do.

My point was rather to the massive amount of people that hate it and haven't read it. The people that form an opinion through word of mouth rather than a serious opinion. Thought I put that in there somewhere.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

*Chuckles* I don't hate Twilight because it's popular. I've read the entire series. I hate Twilight because it's garbage writing that doesn't teach the youth of society a very good moral. I am perfectly content to enjoy my books without them being mainstream, thank you.

I do, however, think it's a shame that there are a number of good writers out there who get overshadowed by people like Meyer, who have their worked hyped up to beyond belief and then pushed off as the next big thing. Everyone follows it because it's the trend ((Or the house wives follow it because, well, it is a fairly mediocre romance novel)) andit get's blown out of proportion.

Edited because you clarified yourself.

Just FYI, I've read the series, 'cept for the last book.
And yeah, I don't like the people that haven't read t and still complain, even if they're on my side. Some people will just go with the cool kids, and not bother to think for themselves.

You're free to like the series. You just need to be prepared to hear me ridicule it at every possibility. :P

Hehe, never said I liked it. I can enjoy the action scenes in the movie, but that's about it.

I respect Meyer only for the massive amounts of money she has. I want to be in her will.

edit: One thing I despise so much about twilight is the horrible vampire/werewolf craze it kickstarted. Oh my god, make the raping of vampires and werewolves stop. Trueblood makes me want to kill myself.

i'm not trying to complain, and i never said "nobody is allowed to bitch about it"

i just stated that it's a little sad that what brings people together is talking shit about something that, honestly, isn't really as awful as people are saying.

again i'm not defending twilight, i don't give a rats ass about it, i just feel like our time is better spent not complaining about something that you don't have to read or watch :p

you guys seem positive on other threads, i'm sure you can understand where i'm coming from instead of trying to just be all defensive and pissy about it.
