Even after the Leech nerf, Ferocity is way more useful than the other two pet specs
This is sad. Let us respec our pet back, pls.

why should I care about arenas? Sounds like arena players' skill issues if they can't adapt to whatever pet a hunter uses.

A similar situation happened to warlocks, just like the removal of our pet specs, they decided to remove observer from the felhunter because “arenas”, I don’t think pet models matter in arenas, the bringing up “players confused with pet models in arenas” was just a stupid excuse to keep their downgraded pet system going. Even though warlocks still have observers for dark glare, it’s not as good as it once was on felhunter. I hope blizz will hire someone who is more passionate with hunter pets and other class minions to give them some love, and usefulness outside of those given situations too

I also believe this is why Warriors lost Gladiator Stance. Not saying im right but from my understanding e-sports comes first and the players come second, if something does not fit the e-sports model it will be removed by next expansion and one of the golden rules of e-sports is "random" things cannot happen and having a pet enter the arena in a "random" spec broke that rule.
They could of changed the UI window for the pet to let the other team know what spec the pet is but back then they didn't touch the UI as much like they do today, it also feels that with how much push that Hunters gave to try and get this feature back and they responded to us with deleting the spec window that someone important got dunked on by this feature and they just straight up wanted it gone forever.

Blizzard wanted World of Warcraft to go pro and to go pro you join e-sports and with joining e-sports you must follow certain e-sports rules otherwise its no longer e-sports. Just like if you want a football to go pro you join the NFL and you follow the NFL rules for example. Removing these aspects of the game Blizzard most likely had to do, could they make a work around to have these things fall in line? Yes, as I stated above a simple UI change would of fixed the Hunter pet entering the arena in a "random" spec but what is easier doing that or just scrapping it.

...and this is why I always have a ferocity pet out. The game pretty much incentivizes it.

Yeah I was kinda wrong few weeks ago, ferocity is still the best spec, but in delves, if you pick brann as a healer, tenacity is superior cuz of fort. Tenacity pets are still good in dungeons and raids, only if there is a lust class present, otherwise use ferocity if there are none

I'll have to disagree on Tenacity for delves; having Heroism/Bloodlust on demand when solo is far too valuable. If anything, using a Clefthoof as BM or a Gorilla as SV is the best thing you can do. Both ferocity pets have a triggered defensive that's worth so very much, and they have plenty of leech to heal themselves up. Mixed with staggering Brann's potions, you really shouldn't have any need to mend pet or use a defensive in a higher tier delve until at least tier 10, as long as you're playing it safe and just pulling one to five enemies at a time (depending on the pack ahead of you, of course). I beat Zekvir on ? difficulty (easy mode) with a courser and collecting potions in a panic when I saw my pet's health get chunked when I was only 607 ilvl.
They just nerfed Zekvir pretty hard though, probably because of casual players complaining that a challenge dared to exist in their content, but still. Clefthooves or Gorillas are THE way to go for pets. Just gotta suck it up and deal with the lack of variety those families have if you want an easier time in higher tier delves. Then again, I used a pet with a crappy ability and still managed to take down ? Zekvir without dying, so I assume using a pet that's actually suited to staying alive will be much more effective.
