I don't think that they are more bestial. According to lore, they just don't talk a lot, but they are fully sapient. Some are seen speaking in the Bastion of Twilight.

I don't know if they are looking at Dragonflight or not. This possibly was a one-off thing.

I already checked shadowlands zones to see if more things got flagged tameable, and none are. I also tested panthara and the change hasn’t been added in yet

Oh that rat color looks awesome, I want it. I hope they keep the tameable rats and flag more rats tameable, especially this one

There is a hyena that uses the color in the new dungeon. It can be attackd, but cannot be tamed.

George is one of the silliest (and surprisingly easiest) challenge tames, and I can't believe a friend and I got first dibs on figuring out the method before secret finders did lol. Sad day when skilled puzzle solvers get outdone by two lazy dudes who just accidentally stumbled on the answer a few minutes after seeing the NPC

The rats are some of the best things added in this upcoming patch. I said it some page back, but I have a friend who has desperately wanted a proper rat pet. Those Zaralek mice didn't hit right, but these overgrown rodents are perfection. He absolutely lit up with glee when he heard we could tame one, and I dread to see how he reacts if we get Fun Policed and the rats become untameable at launch. Assuming we don't get hit with the no fun allowed hammer, I really hope the black and white rat gets flagged.

These rats are perfectly scaled and good enough quality to be a hunter pet, there’s already a good chunk of beast npcs in undermine with this model. Compared to most older rodent models this model looks great even when it’s a little big. We can tame a skunk, marsuuls, mawrats, and rock mice, these models aren’t as high quality but they still work, so I doubt they would remove the rat from us. They should add all the variants aside from the toxic one to the nesting rat and keep the toxic one unique to that npc, I want a toxic rat now

Aaaahhh look at the ratties! I love them! I need me a lab rab, and a goo rat, and a fancy rat, all the rats!

A couple of colors of cave crab were added to the sewer with the Radioactive rat, here's both colors!

Off-duty Sniffer hyenas have the purple armor, and Trained Scroungers have green! Both are tameable. Adding in the Junkyard Hyena in yellow and Salty Snarler in blue armor, both tameable. Lastly the Armored Growler in red armor, tameable!

Found the red cave crab in Rusty Trashnesters, tameable. Also, the Crusty Litterpicker in white cave crab flavor.

All of the other city rats are missing (i.e. Well Fed Rat) but I found a sewer of Red-foot Rats behind S.A.L., however non of them are tamable. There's a leader rat called Slicer that uses the white lab rat model, but I can't even target him despite him being a beast. Edit - found some Nesting Rats further away, and they seem to sport one of four colors, grey fancy, black fancy, black, white face brown and brown. I'll keep killing them to see if white pops up! Grey rat found! It does have blue eyes when tamed, so it's not a "lab rat".
