Patch 11.1
Re: Patch 11.1
A few of my favourite bomb crabs (there are so many great looks!)
And a very smurfy crab...
The majority of bomb crab looks are concentrated on one NPC: the Escaped Bombshell. It seems like it has 33 looks, which is way more than any previous tameable NPC (the record used to be 15). But the great part about this one is that the sewer room that houses them has maybe a dozen or more crabs in it, all in random colours, so it doesn't usually take too many respawns to find the combos you want.

Re: Patch 11.1
If there is a straightforward way to it, it isn't working/implemented. I've looked around the area and haven't found anything. The only thing that I could think of is if there is a Noggenfogger potion that allows levitation, which is shown to be possible in the questline.

Re: Patch 11.1
Crazy there’s more looks on this crab than anything else, finding the look I want will take time, but I hope I get lucky that it has spawned when I enter the sewerWain wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 11:05 am A few of my favourite bomb crabs (there are so many great looks!)

Re: Patch 11.1
I'm glad that all of the cave crabs and bombshells are available. I most likely will not tame any of them, including the hyenas, but it's good for those that want them

Re: Patch 11.1
The crab combos are a godsend. Now we just gotta push for every other skin combo that's currently unused. Well, except for speculative stuff like the pink magmammoths and such since a lot of those are absolutely nonsensical and out there, but still! Lucky for me, the skin I want is a static skin. The red bomb and orange crab look over in Zul'dazar is my jam, and I'm grateful that one isn't random. I'm gonna log in on patch day in Zul'dazar just for that lol.

Re: Patch 11.1
Since bombshells are soon going to be crabs, I really dislike the channeled slow, they lose dps for that, but for mechanicals, the B.I.R.D.s in the undermine questline phase of kaja’coast should be tameable, both the small ones and large ones, they are a perfect candidate in mechanicals since we have the iron axebeak and mechanostriders, it doesn’t hurt to add more mechanical birds. I know this patch could of used more tameable hunter pets both future and past, but considering the patch is taking place in a literal city, I understand why there’s not many things to tame

Yeah I'm waiting for the day the dark red vulpin model can finally be tamed.WerebearGuy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 5:54 pm The crab combos are a godsend. Re: Patch 11.1
Where in Zuldazar are the red bomb crabs? Now that I've got a little more time, I'm hoping to poke around on the PTR and, in addition to poking around with hunter changes, would love to scout out the places I'm going to need to go to tame some new pets when the patch drops.

Re: Patch 11.1
As of today, Bombshells are now crabs, hence the shank to prove it, they also grew back to their old bulbous size. My bombshell has both bite & claw, just like my cloud serpents from SL haha!

Re: Patch 11.1
Probably too late to make a new model, but a flamingo would be pretty funny.

Re: Patch 11.1
Man I'd kill for a real flamingo and not a reused crane. *sighs in Floridian*

Re: Patch 11.1
Using the Back-Strapped Missile to get the Radioactive Rat, I still found it was quite difficult.
It launched me much higher than the tower roof and then just shot me at a wall, missing the roof by a quite a bit. It killed me a couple of times.
What strategy do people find works?:
- Try and time disengage at the right point past the roof so you jump back by the right amount to hit the roof?
- Use it to launch yourself way up onto the water pipes above and then run along those and jump down on the roof?
I did manage to get it by the latter strategy (I used a parasol to glide down from the water pipes).
The second issue is that a lot of the time when I click on the rocket it tells me "Target not in line of sight." Anyone know what that's about? It's a confusing message since I'm not targetting anything

Re: Patch 11.1
After experimenting, one strategy that work for me is to go to the Noggenfogger Recall Technician standing on a metal platform by a slime pool at around 32.2, 76.1. Stand back a bit so you're just standing on the dirt, not the platform, and try to face towards the rat on the tower. I found that was about the optimum launch distance for me to land on the tower roof, though it still required a few tries as the distance makes it easy to miss the tower by a tiny amount.
I was looking for some describable NPC or landmark so I can add a reproducible strategy to Petopia that even someone without map coordinates could work out.

Just as a note, that Noggenfogger npc is not always there. It is part of the Renown 7 rares and if someone spawned the rare and killed it, the npc will go away for a time.

Re: Patch 11.1
Back strap missile sounds tedious to work with, looks like I’ll still go with my pipe method
Re: Patch 11.1
I've added all the NPC data for 11.1 now. Hopefully there aren't any major changes to it before launch (though additions are always welcome!)
Worg, I'll take a look at your pipe method and try to add that to the (already long) description for the Radioactive Rat. It's just something I need to try out first before I can explain it properly.
I have surgery in the morning, but it's pretty minor and I should be home next day at the latest, so no real disruptions to my availability

Take your time, I’m wishing you luck and a smooth recovery, happy to hear all the data is on the site, I can make a wishlist, I probably will soonWain wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 12:38 am I've added all the NPC data for 11.1 now.
