Patch 11.1.5

Unread post by Valnaaros »

Since Blizz will likely start testing soon for the next patch, I'm going to go ahead and open up a thread for it.

Since I keep forgetting whenever we get new patches, I'm also going to offer a suggested addon; IdTip
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/idtip

This addon will let you see the ID of the NPCs you hover over. I've used this addon since... I dunno, late Shadowlands? Even when it's outdated, it still works. When we find new things that can be tamed, or things that aren't in the database (like most of Undermine so far, lazy wowhead!), we can post their IDs. This will also be helpful for Wain, since I'm sure he's gonna be putting up an 11.1.5 bugs page like usual with patches. Knowing an NPC's ID ahead of time cuts down on search time, both for us and for the dev(s?) who hopefully fixes the bugs we find.

I'm hoping we get those cool eels.
I could see them being tied to a book, behind the Blackwater cartel maybe?
We haven't had a learnable species this expansion.

Since this is the nightfall and visions revisit patch according to the roadmap, I could see us being able to tame more creatures aligning with the void, and maybe some typical creatures with void corruption added to their model. I would like to tame an aqir worm/serpent, they look pretty neat and would fit great in either worms or serpents, and we should get our malefic goats and umbral stalkers back

Oh man i'd absolutely love that. Bonus points if I can go to Maldraxyss and find that stitched up worm.

If we're going full void. Probably lots of purple stuff, someone's gonna be happy about it. I'm just looking forward to them now we aren't tied to set specs.

We still need old beasts from shadowlands, like soul eaters and razorwings, I see normal beast npcs using soul eater models we should have them as pets, they sorta fit the theme of shadow for the next minor patch

I was looking at the pet pages, as one does, and noticed that we haven't had a single new Mechanical family pet appearance added since Shadowlands! I found that super odd, especially considering that we have THE goblin patch now! Here's hoping they add some in at a future update.

We're theorizing that Flarendo and Torq, the mecha devilsaur and gorilla in Liberation of Undermine, will be our new mechanical pets. Unfortunately, we have that horrendously unspoken "rule" that raid tames only happen two or more expansions later. Hopefully this doesn't end up true this time, but following the consistent pattern, we're in for a wait for our mechanicals. For reference:

- Classic: raid boss tameables occurred in Cataclysm (3 expansions later)
- The Burning Crusade: I don't think we had any in TBC
- Wrath of the Lich King: No raid bosses, but the undead hounds of ICC were made tameable in Shadowlands (6 expansions later)
- Cataclysm: raid boss tameables occurred in Warlords of Draenor (2 expansions later)
- Mists of Pandaria: raid boss tameables occurred in Legion (2 expansions later)
- Warlords of Draenor: raid boss tameables occurred in Shadowlands (3 expansions later)
- Legion: raid boss tameables occurred in Shadowlands (2 expansions later)
- Battle for Azeroth: raid boss tameables occurred in The War Within (3 expansions later)

Of course, some of these raid tames came out mid-expansion, so we could see Shadowlands raid tames between now and next expansion. Still a long wait for Flarendo and Torq though.

Oh yeah, you're right. Whoops. I must've misread Chromaggus' times when I looked at past Petopia pages, and I completely forgot Thok was made tameable before most others in MoP.

It is pretty odd! And a real missed opportunity for this patch.

I'm not complaining, however, since we got so many cool things. Or (if they aren't to anyone's personal taste) at least a lot of things :)

A really easy addition for Undermine would have been the remaining mechanical tiger colours (blue, copper, and gold are unused). The "Sabertron" cats were linked to a goblin technician, so they have ties to that race already. They could also have tigers to match all cartel colours except for the purple "Cartels of Undermine" meta-faction.

Another easy addition would have been mechanical chickens and/or rocket chickens. We only have one tameable colour of each (they use the same skins) and there are 8 unused colours. Green, red, gold, and black all match cartel colours, too! (Shame no blue or purple). But then, maybe they're more of a gnome thing.

Good point, we could have used more mechanicals here after the family switch of the bombshells. Like wain said we could of had the rest of the colors of the mechanical tigers, maybe some mechanical chickens and rocket chickens, the rockets on the chicken are basically goblin rockets, like they stole some mechanical chickens from gnomes and strapped rockets on their wings. They could of added tameable versions of the B.I.R.D npcs in kaja coast from the questline but just sitting somewhere. I did see multiple mechanical prairie dogs in undermine too. I think this was a huge missed opportunity for more mechanical pets and goblin armored beasts, it would of been cool to have armored-mecha raptor hybrids and armored monkeys

Undermine as a whole has a lot of...issues, and considering my history of reporting things, I left it to my friend to report those. I hope 11.1.5 takes a while, because they really need to stop rushing patches out without listening to the feedback from PTR. Or at least stop listening to the people whining over pointless stuff that blots out actual issues lol. Hopefully our secret dev can just go wave their magic wand and remedy some of these missed mechanical opportunities between now and 11.2!

The patch is now able to be tested on the ptr. Not a whole lot added. Nothing I have found is tamable, including the new white lynx (which is only found in a friendly armored form). There are also giant hedgehog mounts, which could possibly hint at something that we might see as a tamable beast in the future.

If I was a BM hunter, I would totally tame those new chimaeras. When I first saw the icons, I thought it was a new core hound model

Yeah, no matter how you look at them, those new chimaeras are absolutely flying core hounds. I refuse to be told otherwise lol.

It seems like these hedgehogs and chimaeras aka flying core hounds are a teaser for something in the future. I know many store mount models were made into actual creatures in the game one expansion or two expansions after the store mount got added to the shop, best examples are iron skyreaver, Sylverian dreamer, enchanted fey dragon, vulpine familiar, and mystic runesaber, exact wild copies have been added from those expansions later. I hope this is the case because these winged core hounds are cool
