Patch 11.1
Re: Patch 11.1
Has anyone worked out why some pets lose their pet bars and others keep them?

This is my favourite hyena by far!
I've been wondering if I can assemble a purple Undermine-themed mail set to match (and purple sunglasses). I have some yellow and blue sets so far, but not purple. I hope it's possible.

Re: Patch 11.1
it's a frustrating glitch! so far I've found it helps if you summon the pet you're changing the spec of, like have it active beside you, and then when you swap specs the action bar stays but just changes some buttons instead of wiping completely
still, I'd happily take this glitch for the perk of being able to choose our pet specs again!
also there's definitely some purple world sets, but instead of being drops they seem tied to reputation, I'm really looking forward to unlocking them though, I love the purple theme down here (lmao big surprise

Re: Patch 11.1
I’ve done what Vephriel explained when changing specs, I remember before bfa the bar would also reset and had to be reconfigured

I tamed a moth that appeared when changing batteries during the Undermine World Quest "What Plants Crave"

It's called "Dazzled Lightmoth" https://www.wowhead.com/ptr-2/npc=23361 ... -lightmoth
It comes in multiple colors. For example, others we have on other tameable mobs:

None of them are on the moth's pages, so I assume it was overlooked during PTR. I do not know all of the possible colors from it, though the 8 I summoned were all these 2-3 colors.
However, there is an oddity - not sure if it's specific to these moths in particular, but when you tame these moths, the eyeballs do not produce any light until they are dismissed and resummoned - as you can see in the first picture, the head looks dark brown, almsot black, even though with the eye glow there, the body shows as yellow like in this: https://www.wow-petopia.com/look.php?id ... e-sparkles

Re: Patch 11.1
To be safe, you must have the pet out when you change its spec; this is the only way to guarantee that it will retain its pet bar.

Re: Patch 11.1
Thank you for your report, Maizou. It was missed, most likely, due to the WQ only be available for a specific cartel. If you didn't pick that cartel when testing and the WQ was up, you wouldn't know about it.
Re: Patch 11.1
Thanks! I'm adding those moths now.
Which cartel is the WQ linked to?

Re: Patch 11.1
I think that's Venture Co. I saw them on week 1 when I picked Venture Co. under the assumption I'd be working with the "bad" faction (boy was I wrong, what lame neutering they got...). I didn't realize they weren't known skins.

I also picked Venture (because I don't like 'em and wanted to get 'em out of the way), and have seen that quest.WerebearGuy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 8:55 am I think that's Venture Co. Re: Patch 11.1
The moths aren’t anything special. The variants are already used on other tamable npcs
Re: Patch 11.1
Something I missed in 11.1 was the addition of 4 new crab textures, but they don't seem to be in use yet.
Intriguingly, the files are adjacent to 4 new lobstrok colours that correspond very closely with the crabs.
They may be for upcoming content (11.2 ?), or they may have been intended for 11.1 content that was cut.
The colour range they use strongly suggests they're intended for Nerubian (or Old God) content. These four colours are used for a wide range of Nerubian models in TWW. So maybe they're for upcoming Nerubian content with a watery theme.
(Also threadlings, skitterlings, and more!)

Re: Patch 11.1
I keep saying it, but clearly 11.1 was a crab patch lol. If we get those at some point, then neat. Personally, I kind of hope we start moving away from the same model though; we need a newer crab design if they want to go with Nerubian themes. This would be the perfect time for them to use that (sort of) unused lobster model that's part of the seafood magnifique model. Either way, more crab is never drab.

Re: Patch 11.1
The person who replied on Bluesky guessed right: these were designed for arachnophobia mode.
The Nerubian threadlings now use those crab looks when that mode is engaged:
And I noticed that Nerubian humanoids now use the new lobstrok colours.
Ah well, that doesn't mean they can't be used for regular crabs as well!
It does seem a bit odd that they went to all that effort just for arachnophobia mode for so few creatures. Surely, the existing looks were close enough! Not that I'm complaining: if they keep up this tradition then we may get new crab looks whenever we get spiders.

Re: Patch 11.1
Here's hoping those get put on actual mobs outside of that feature at some point. More crabs for the crab army would never hurt.

Re: Patch 11.1
On a hunch I checked the skitterfly model, which is used for arachnophobia mode for swarmites (flying Nerubian beasts). And yes, there are 4 more 'Nerubian-style' colours in there as well!
I'm stunned that I missed all these - I keep a pretty close eye on the new textures added in each patch.

Re: Patch 11.1
I remember reporting these on beta, all of the new crab and skitterfly colors are on the nerubians, arachnids from older content use old colors of crabs and skitterflies. Undercrawlers use the cataclysm spiky crab model, the black arachnophobia skitterfly looks the same as the normal black skitterfly except for the wing tint, the corpse tickler crab stands out

Re: Patch 11.1
Oh good god that dark skitterfly is so good. I don't remember the beta posts at all lol. I normally hate skitterflies, but I would absolutely tame that dark one if we had the opportunity. I like my spiders though, so I don't want to swap to arachnophobia mode. Maybe one day we'll be blessed with tameable mobs using these skins.

Re: Patch 11.1
They should be put in the unused looks, they look too good not to be used on normal versions of them, the light purple and tan skitterflies stand out from the other ones and the normal ones
