Patch 11.2.0
Since the next patch has been announced and will likely be testable starting next week, I've gone ahead and started this thread.
Devourers will be returning in this patch, so maybe they'll become tamable this time around.

Re: Patch 11.2.0
Some of the stuff we've seen already has me worried that this patch is gonna suck, specifically the return of a legendary cloak. Not too happy that we'll have that again. As for beasts, there's potential for a LOT of things with the new Eco-Dome Ve'nari runs, where we bring old creatures to her as glorified zoo attractions. Here's hoping the PTR can abate my worries regarding gameplay while giving us a few new beasts. Devourers would be an amazing addition for sure.

I have things I'm not supposed to have!

Re: Patch 11.2.0
First to say I want the world edge gorger. I FARMED HIM ENOUGH FOR THE MOUNT NOW I WANT HIM TO FIGHT FOR ME!
But all seriousness, I hope we get some devourer lore, cos like... I feel like I missed that.
The armoured deer things look kinda cool.
Im curious is we will keep the Jurassic park setup in the future or it's just a, fill the bar and forget.
Yer... Probably.
The preview didn't really say anything I give a rats arse about. Cept for maybe the dome thing, but it's kinda set and forget. And we already have has 2 Borrowed power tools. The ring and the new weird belt?
New battlepets, maybe some new mogs? Probably not, since it's all spectral. Unless they put a Devourer head on a stick or something, it's completely out my vibe. Probably skip this season after I grab the critters.

Re: Patch 11.2.0
I watched the video, it looks a lot better than undermine as a major patch, and a place we should have had during shadowlands. As for creatures, it’s mostly reused models from shadowlands like gromits, Tazavesh rats, etc. this looks like the patch we should learn to tame devourers from animites to gorgers. As for new beasts, I haven’t seen much, but I really like those new talbuks, they are like a mix of rockfangs and shalehorns

Re: Patch 11.2.0
I watched the video just now. Everything I could pinpoint that stood out:
0:06: One of the Devourer worms, likely not tameable because no fun allowed
0:08: Krolusks and Gromits outside of a dome, plus a new talbuk-like creature inside a lush dome
1:04: Krolusks, Devourers (2 legs), and Nether Rays in a white sandy area
2:08: Inside Taz'avesh (city), one of the Broker cats can be seen (likely not tameable)
2:34: A new giant insect using Nerubian animations
3:52: Argus mana ray in the background, old color
3:57: More of those new talbuks, but in energy form. Likely just an aura that's lost on taming.
4:01: Ghostly version of Rasha'nan flying in the sky, Zereth Mortis devourer (gorilla)
4:08: Ghostly devourers (2 legs)
4:11: Ghostly Gyreworm
4:17: Critter, but looks like a new worm model with chitinous armor?
4:19: Really good look at new talbuks; they use shalehorn animations and have multiple horn types
4:36: Void warp stalker inside the new delve
5:49: Showing the krolusks and gromits again from 0:08
5:56: Showing the talbuks again from 0:08
5:59: New water strider color, new vulpin color (maybe new model? Can't tell)
6:22: Baby foxes, definitely using new colors
6:31: Ghostly water striders with a new model, ghostly void hound, and a devourer (gorilla) in the distance
6:44: Ghostly Zereth Mortis devourer (gorilla)
7:16: All the normal devourers inside the new dungeon
12:23: Another good look at the giant insect in the raid... IT TEARS ITS BUTT OFF XENOMORPH STYLE?!
So, not really a whole lot of new things that look tameable on the surface. As Worg mentioned, those beautiful new talbuk-looking stags are a nice addition, and there is at least a new model for the water striders and MAYBE foxes, but that's not a whole lot. We need that PTR soon.

The fox is actually a new model, this makes vulpins look like a Barbie doll, I really like how it’s designed

Re: Patch 11.2.0
I'll fight you at wafflehouse!
Undermine was probably my favourite patch in a few expansions. The cosmetics were great, the vibes were pristine. And it gave me cool armoured hyenas and my new main pet the bomb crab.
Admittedly, It was to grindy with the multiple rep grinds and 20 weeks of raid to get the dinosaur mount. But the Raid itself was genuinely Really fucking fun, and the transmogs were amazing.
But they fit my vibe of goblin and junk. It felt FUN! And I don't remember the last time there was silly fun in wow since pre shadowlands.
Both new, the vulpin's cheeks stick out more this is sleaker, more weasel like. and the waterstrider thing has a different arse, probably critter locked.5:59: New water strider color, new vulpin color (maybe new model? Can't tell)
Looks like those eel models.4:17: Critter, but looks like a new worm model with chitinous armor?

Re: Patch 11.2.0
Maybe/hopefully they’ll put in a few razorwings in this new zone, hopefully they become tameable at this point, and for devourers, if I can’t take any devourers this patch I will go bored real fast
Edit - Can’t forget about the remaining mana ray colors

Re: Patch 11.2.0
This thing is a new kind of devourer, isn't it? Unless it's one of the swarmites that is collapsed down because it's on the ground and in combat?

Yyyyyyer, I think that's just the mite doing it's lil animation thing.

Yknow. With more glowy shit.

Re: Patch 11.2.0
I really should wait until the PTR becomes playable before I say more, but my worry from the video is that this is a smallish new area that cannibalizes as much older content as possible to reduce the creators' workload. I really didn't see a lot of varied K'aresh enivonments, but there was a lot of focus on the roles of older content in the patch.
And from their description, the idea of "revitalizing" an ecosystem by introducing as many foreign creatures as will thrive in it sounds like a wildly spurious concept. But given that most of our ecology-related quests have been about killing <x> to bring about "balance" to a wild ecosystem, it would not surprise me.

Ah, damn! I hoped it was some kind of new devourer crawler.

Re: Patch 11.2.0
Those are perfectly justified worries, Wain. Though, to look on the positive side, K'aresh is pretty much a dead planet, so the lack of... well, anything, is kind of expected on a conceptual basis. The PTR will definitely show us everything though, because they never reveal everything in trailers. Surely there's another alien animal or two we haven't seen yet.

Re: Patch 11.2.0
My concerns of it is, Will it even matter?
If the void is eating the planet, it's like trying to revitalise outlands, he's dead Jim. Just bring the still living content to azeroth and set up a zoo over here, that way we could probably come back to it, instead of it being an inevitable abandoned zone when the patch is done, like argus.
Feels hard to want to try and save it at this point?

Re: Patch 11.2.0
Yeah, maybe those new models we saw are also from other worlds. Maybe I made a bad assumption that those are the last relics of life from K'aresh that we're going to bombard with the most competitive foreign species we can findWerebearGuy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 18, 2025 1:59 pm Those are perfectly justified worries, Wain. But, as Danny pointed out, why bother if the world is being eaten? Better if we rescued what we could and brought it somewhere safe.

Re: Patch 11.2.0
I agree. I think that the idea of trying to preserve life on a planet that is dead is not only a bad concept, but it is a concept that has been done already - twice. Better to just find a place on Azeroth and bring them there.

Re: Patch 11.2.0
I also think that at this point Blizz is focusing almost entirely on Midnight and reducing their workload for War Within as much as possible.
