Current Cast | The Lost | Statistics
In a far-flung future, dragons of all breeds and flights have mastered space travel and now live scattered around the cosmos. Planets known. Planets never before heard of. Planets sculpted by dragon claws. Moons. Spacecraft. Space stations. The possibilities are endless.
However, this isn't the idyllic future many had anticipated.
Strife is rife for those who aren't fortunate enough to live on the esteemed glitterworlds. War is waged across the star systems as factions strive to conquer the known universe. Piracy is out of control as thieves and murderers commandeer spacecraft for their own selfish deeds before fleeing beyond the border of protected space. Primitive tribes, whether native or established from travellers long, long ago, are suspicious of anything mechanical and fight for their beliefs.
And if that weren't enough, the once-servant mechanoids have rebelled against their creators and now large armies of destructive robots seek to wipe out all dragon life. Genetic experiments got way out of hand and giant insects hungry for dragon flesh form massive nests below the surface of many planets. Even the planets themselves can be unpredictable, with extreme weather systems wreaking havoc on those that live upon them.
Even in the depths of space no one is safe. Many dragons took to living on massive city-ships and drift between worlds, often at risk of pirates or rival factions shooting them down regardless of threat.
Our story follows one such ship. Under assault from a rebel group the inhabitants scramble for escape pods. Many are launched in desperation before they are even close to capacity, leaving the unfortunate to a grim fate. A cluster of individual pods manage to convene in the same place on the planet below.
Lost, confused, and very limited on supplies and trust, these misfits now need to build themselves a shelter and survive, and maybe one day return to the stars.

Hello and welcome to a new Fodderlocke challenge! I kinda hit a lull in FR where nothing works, yet I don't feel the need or want to step away just yet. And after reading a few other Fodderlockes along the way, I decided this was... A course of action. If you didn't see my previous Fodderlocke or just need a refresh on the basic premise, you can find the original thread here.
This one will differ a little from the norm with some modified rules and 100 events to pick from. Yes, 100! Don't worry, some are repeated to increase chance and is largely weighted towards levelling and exalting, with some hopefully fun things in between.
For story-writing purposes I will be giving each dragon backstories, skills and traits sourced from the colony management/survival game Rimworld, as will be the overall theme. I'll be (attempting to) keep entries short. Rimworld occurrences can be hilarious out of context - I'm hoping the same will happen here!

RULES
Set Up
A colony is nothing without colonists. Luckily for us, a group of hapless refugees just crashed nearby.
- Buy yourself the cheapest adult dragon off the auction house. Appearance doesn’t matter when you're a refugee fleeing the horrors of war.
- Level that dragon to 8. They must be stronger than their recruits. Strength is valuable. Important. Vital to not being backstabbed.
- If any dragon ever matches them in level, that dragon duels them for the right to lead. Take them both into the coliseum and exalt whoever faints first. Raise the winner by 1 level. If the leader has an extra life and loses, they pass the title over but remain in the colony. The prior leader cannot overtake the new leader, but can reclaim the title if the new leader dies.
- Recruit your first colonists. Grab 4 more of the cheapest adults off the auction house. Level each of them to 6.
Daily* Tasks
*Does not have to be daily. Conversely, if you love the coliseum you can do multiple tasks a day.
Phase 1 > > >
- Buy the two cheapest adults dragons from the auction house. These are potential recruits.
- Test them in your preferred 2-fodder training venues until they reach level 6.
- Roll 1d6 for both dragons. If 6, the dragon joins the pack. Anything else, they fail and are exalted.
- Continue your efforts until you get a successful recruit (or two if you're lucky!).
Phase 2 > > >
Life on the Rim is not peaceful for long. Many threats await unwitting colonists. Even themselves!
As there are 100 events, I will not post them here to save space, spam, and slowly boring readers. I may pop them in a dragon bio if anyone really wants to see what's available.
DROPS OF FATE
- Eliminate: Oh, bad luck. Exalt both of them.
- Rally: The current party is motivated! If they would have to roll as to whether or not they'll get exalted at the end of this coliseum event, they automatically succeed and return safely to your lair.
- Ambush: Randomly choose one of the dragons in the current coliseum party. They flee and get the heck out. Immediately refresh, remove them, and replace them with a random other dragon.
- Berserker: The dragons get caught up in the excitement and cause collateral damage! Remove any apparel and familiars they had.
- Haste: Your dragons are so efficient! Raise them an additional level.
- Egg: Oh nice, think of how many hatchlings you can buy if you sell One egg. Pick up the three cheapest hatchlings on the AH. Level them to 5 when they come of age.
- Familiars/Apparel: They found a minor piece of loot! Flip a coin to determine who keeps it, and attach it to them, if able. They now have a second chance to survive.
- Runestone: One of the deities seems to be smiling upon the group. All dragons of that deity's element feel their blessings - Raise all dragons of that deity's element by one level.
- Vista/Scene/Skin: Admiring the scenery led to a fortuitous encounter with another dragon. They wish to join you on your endeavours. Buy the cheapest adult dragon of the auction house and level them to 6; they automatically join the group. For skins, buy the corresponding breed and pose.
EXALT BONUS
The Empire demands tribute! A faction of refugee nobles calling themselves the Empire have made their home on this planet and flaunt their power by 'requesting' (demanding) that colonies send them aid in the form of very specific 'recruits'. If any colonist(s) match the daily exalt bonus they must be exalted without question, regardless of extra lives or friendships. Failure to comply will result in... Well, nothing really. But the Empire will be Very Angry.
THIS IS AN EXPERIMENT. If I feel too many dragons get exalted too fast for the challenge, I may remove this.
STRAINED LIMITS
If the colony reaches 25 adult members, or I run out of lair space, everyone except the leader will be thrown into the Hunger Games simulator. The first 12 to die will be exalted.
EXTRAS
If you ever run out of dragons completely, you lose. Start over. Consider keeping a high-score chart to see which challenge lasts the longest.
If for some ungodly reason a dragon ever gets to level 25, crown them the lord of all fodder. Give them stats & stones and pull them out to make them your new 2-fod trainer. Or exalt them for being too strong. Your choice.
