My headcanon is that the lack of beasts on the banner for the unlinked guide is a subtle jab at how there's not a whole lot of new models, and I'm sticking with that headcanon lol. While we didn't get a whole lot (yet, hopefully), I'm pretty excited for three of the new models. I just pray we get a tameable white hydra before we have to wait several expansions and hope they don't forget to retroactively flag the AoF boss.

Hah! Actually, we have a modestly decent number of new models, even if they're all snek-adjacent. It'll just be a while before I make a proper banner because I'm not sure which colours are going to to be available for each model, and also I just haven't had time!

I also just added two unused bear looks that have been created for 12.1 mounts that happen to use the bear2 model as their base. The skins work perfectly if applied to the wild model.

The snow-dusted one would make a particularly interesting look if copied to the wold model. The other is just another shade of dark brown and isn't revolutionary. It's also difficult trying to come up with names that don't sound weird to differentiate every shade of dark brown.

The best colors look awesome. But I wish they made unarmored Amani bears. I want a standard bear but the legion ones are ugly. The first color would look great in northrend, the second one however, looks like the original “black” from the legion alpha/beta

My vote is, if we still have five repeated colors by launch, to have one of each color represented by one of each available model. Like, yellow hydra, red cobra, green wind serpent, blue writhe, and white chimera (or any other combination, as long as it's with tameable looks). I feel that would be a good way to show off the new models in a small banner.

Not Pet related but haven't seen to much discussion about it, but at the very bottom of the 12.1 patch notes is this here.

I’m waiting for the time hunters will be able to transmogrify their own ammo separately from some guns, but ranged enchants are going to be game changing

I only started leveling my Hunters. I thought this was always planned? I actually thought it was already implemented.

There was a brief moment during I think TWW where you could via a bug, it sadly got patched pretty quick.

The flying snake is still not quite finished in the new build. Still only 2 colours officially defined, and they're using the wrong shine/reflect colour. If you remove all the textures the snake has the blue skin underneath instead of the usual black nothingness, so it looks like it was created with baked-in textures and they only got half way to converting it to use dynamic ones. I had hoped that would be fixed in this build but I was also half expecting to see a non-mount version of the skeletal wind serpent. Sadly, nothing.

A quick fix will definitely make it a great model to tame. Other than that I am waiting for the Serpent hydras to have more colors, especially red. I wanted to clarify if other colored two headed wind serpents can be found anywhere, I found a few colors in the intro quest line in zul’aman and I couldn’t find them anywhere in the coiled isle

I so far found blue ones on the island, and the yellow ones underground, but saw red & green on the intro questline

One of the two flying serpent (not wind serpents, the ones Wain was talking about) can be found in the new dungeon. Untamable.

The second boss (a writhe), as part of its mechanics, has your pull the various snakes apart from each other. So even though there are writhes born as writhes, it looks like writhes can be composed of just a bunch of snakes that can come together and separate at any time.

The only colors we're missing on tameable mobs, as of the current PTR build (12.1.0.68301), are the following:
- Grey-Green Cobra
- Purple Cobra
- Pale Cobra
- Green Skyfiend (I think they were in the beginning of the new renown's quests, but I could be wrong)
- Green Serpent Hydra (unsure)
- Red Serpent Hydra
- Pale Pink Serpent Hydra (currently only on a dungeon boss)
- Pale Pink Writhing Serpents

Not bad for how early it is, honestly. Definitely plenty of room to weed out a bunch of repeat colors though.

I agree. All remaining colors should be added to the npcs. The hydras underground can have the rest of the colors aside from yellow to keep Destra unique

I'm okay with pale pink hydra being limited to the dungeon boss, but only if they don't forget to flag it for later taming lol. The remaining green hydra should be used above ground somewhere. Maybe in the introductory quests (though FOMO exists in that case).

- Grey-green Cobra is available on a few different mobs.
- Purple Cobra is also available on a few different mobs.
- Pale Cobra is on a couple of mobs but not tamable.
- Green Skyfiend is tamable. Many mobs that I've found.
- Green Serpent Hydra is tamable on a couple of mobs.
- A modified pale pink writhe is available on the second boss of the new dungeon.
- Red Serpent Hydra is most likely available.
