I hope red hydra makes it, if not I have to gamble to tame Destra and go for a red skyfiend(if they stay non-exotic), so far the skyfiend was my favorite pet used during ptr, even though they have that slow motion run when sprinting really fast, similar to hornstriders and old warp stalkers

So the only ones that aren't accounted for (as tameable mobs) are Pale Cobra, Red Serpent Hydra, Pale Pink Serpent Hydra, and Pale Pink Writhing Serpents. Definitely a good selection with only two skins locked to bosses for now. Regarding the modified writhe in the dungeon, I forgot about that one. All those swords jammed in its body (bodies?) makes for another addition to any sadist hunter's stable, assuming they don't forget to flag it a few expansions from now. As for the red serpent hydra, where would it even fit on the island? The red versions of most of the mobs have been either one-off quests or as delve enemies. We should agree on a spot with one of those serpent hydras, and F6 it to report it so it can get the red skin as an option, unless there is one out there and I am just blind.

God I want a skyfiend right now. I love them so much.

Oh, so that's where the grey-green and purple cobras were. Shake a pot, get snakes lmao. Also, found a tameable red serpent hydra... but it's not tameable. It's trapped in a cartography quest, so RIP. Flagged tameable on wowhead though, so if I ever find a way to break out like others found out with that one undead devilsaur, I'll be happy.

Yeah, it was a bit disappointing to find them that way. It's early in beta though, so there's always the chance to beg the devs to put it on a mob that's actually reachable lol.

Looks like my new plan is to go for Destra, and tame a red skyfiend(I found it as a second variant to the yellow one in the vaults of atal’utek). The skyfiend is the closest thing I can be to a draenor dragommaw orc with a 2h weapon

If you want a red skyfiend, it's really easy to get by just going into a delve and recycling the nemesis packs (Grudge Pit is the best for this), since skyfiends can appear as one of the pack types. Comes in red and yellow, though shares a spawn with new wind serpents, writhes, and a giant maldraxxus ooze man for some reason, but still. Red (and yellow) skyfiends are super easy to get, thankfully.

I updated the 12.1 guide with the known tame status of all the looks:

https://www.wow-petopia.com/Patch%2012.1.0.php

(And updated the logo to have a few new looks)

It looks like there are no tameable venomfangs yet, but I hope they're coming. The model wasn't touched between the first and second builds, and it still needs some work, and for the rest of the appearances to be added.

I’m hoping the red Hydra & venomfangs make it in the next few builds. Don’t forget about the two new skunk looks either. Once patch releases, I can finally return Henri to the wild because I always wanted a proper skunk

Good call, I knew something was missing lmao. I believe it's just these two, but proper stinkbutts are finally coming unless a developer that hates us decides to unflag them.

Thanks for the reminder! With all the new models I completely forgot about those. I've added them now. And posted about them on Bluesky. I can't imagine they would be removed, but even less likely now people know and are excited.

Since more skunks are becoming tameable I'll ask if the brown and orange ones from Emerald Dream can now be made so as well. They are just regular beasts and nothing weird that should cause any issues. I wonder if maybe Henri was the only one made tameable at that time so he could be special.

Also updated their images a bit.

Henri was a special model in 10.2, similar fashion to one color and single models like Loque’nahak, and Sul’raka. I’m happy the other colors make it too. Hopefully for my fellow BM hunters out there and in here, other Grimlynx colors will make it so Rhazul is not alone

As of today's build, Skyfiends are Chimaeras instead of Serpents.

Some are still misclassified as Serpents, but I suspect that'll change.

I'm pretty sure there were other colours of his model in that same patch (brown, and orange, at least), it's just that he was the only one set tameable.

Great, that at least signals their intent with them!

Unfortunate that they went with the boring choice, but at least they're not serpents anymore. Variety in pet families is a win regardless.

The flying serpent (non mount) still hasn't received any updates, so I've now reported its texture issues as a bug, and mentioned the lack of support for additional colours at the same time. So, hopefully they'll add its full range of colours and be properly implemented.

Well I saw this one coming. Time to see some two headed snakes with venom dripping all over their tail, fangs, and chest breathe ice haha!
