Regarding Exploits
As a reminder, due to a recent exploit that has gotten out, exploits are not supported here on these forums nor encouraged. Exploits will be reported to Blizz and posts that explain how to do them or encourage them will be deleted.
Re: Regarding Exploits
Yes, please do not post any details (or links) of how to use exploits here.
It's fine to post things like "pet x shouldn't be tameable but is currently".
But things like "x can be achieved by creating a set of circumstances that are clearly not intended" are not.
Stuff like this is a bit muddy, because we did have that N'lyeth item that allowed us to become hostile to friendly NPCs in BfA areas and Blizzard was apparently fine with it. We just have to be careful to ensure they are first.

Re: Regarding Exploits
This exploit is absolutely a bad one. It's not like the sliver as Wain said, and from experience, it WILL get you banned the moment you're caught (and you're a very obvious sitting duck if you do use it). For those who have seen the exploit, be sure to put in a ticket explaining how it works so the AI chatbots (and 0.001% of support that are real people) can forward it to get it fixed. For those that haven't, don't go looking for it because it'd be shooting yourself in the foot if you used that exploit. You don't want to get banned for doing something stupid, after all. The allure of using exploits is definitely a strong one, and it can cause someone to get annoyed and seek it out because they want things they shouldn't have. This rash behavior ruins the fun for everyone else when a proper means of collecting things becomes available. Play safe, play smart.
I will not explain the exploit, even in private messages. This should never have gone public, but the devs are dreadfully slow when it comes to fixing exploits like this, and some player tried to have their five seconds of fame by posting it on some public Discord two days ago. Let's hope it gets fixed sooner rather than later. It's already being abused in PvP.

Resident exploiter/bug finder that is currently looking for a bug that can safely be shared to tame unintended pets.
Current bans on record for reporting exploits: 2
Re: Regarding Exploits
I'm more befuddled by the fact the method STILL isn't fixed. Someone is actively streaming their total invincibility in Warsong Gulch right now - Blizzard will hotfix harmless pets in 24 hours but a major gamebreaking exploit is just left to ride? Is anyone still left on the team? Bizarre.

Re: Regarding Exploits
It could be that they are trying to figure out how to fix it or are also gathering info on every person that is using it so that they can issue both a ban and a fix at the same time.Dialga wrote: Wed Sep 30, 2026 8:21 pm I'm more befuddled by the fact the method STILL isn't fixed.
