You can eat both the larger and the smaller ones. Whether they're shrimp or prawn doesn't really matter.

I hear you, Veph, seafood really isn't my thing either. I DID used to love shrimp (the menus at the restaurants always called it shrimp), but a few years ago it started making me sick so I stopped. Baaah.

But not a huge fan of fish, it's just not my thing.

This would seem a bit worse tough.
I love the Harry potter movies, and I've read all the books straight through (Sorcerers stone through Deathly Hollows) ten times. Not exaggerating. While I was slightly disappointed with Battle of Hogwarts at the end of HP6, I loved the movie none-the-less. And with Making Deathly Hollows into two movies, I don't see how they could leave much out.

There are very few good Book to Movies. LOTR and Harry potter are the only ones I've seen. Chronicles of Narnia by disney was just fail, and Although Eragon as a movie was good, it was awful when considering the book it was based on. Golden Compass another in the list.
Harry Potter is always a hit or miss, seeing as it's had like FIVE directors by now. Some were fairly accurate to the books and only left out trivial, unnecessary things. Some were monstrosities.

I don't know about Eragon (I've neither read the books nor seen the movies) but the first Chronicle of Narnia (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) was INCREDIBLY accurate to the book. The second one (Prince Caspain) was a piece of crap, though.

Golden Compass wasn't a great rendition of the book, but considering its source material blatantly speaks against the church I was HARDLY surprised at some of its edits. It had a good Daemon quiz though (even if I was a spider...wtf? *arachnophobe* )

Airbender is just....a travesty, though.

Meh, And me being an Incredible fan of the books as well, could pick out many flaws in the story. And I was more detested at the awful casting. It was just horrid imho.

Very exciting news for fans of the original animated series!

A 'sequel' of sorts has been given the green light by Nickelodeon. It won't feature the characters from the original series, a fact that I'm glad about as their story was wrapped up nicely. I don't care for sequels that try to mess up a perfectly good ending by drawing it out. Anyways, here's the news link:

“The Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after the events of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ and follows the adventures of the Avatar after Aang – a passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenaged girl from the Southern Water Tribe named Korra.”

Korra’s quest eventually leads her to Republic City–the epicenter of the world of “Avatar.” A metropolis powered by steampunk-type technology, the city is inhabited by people from all nations. Korra finds that Republic City suffers from rampant crime and is also dealing with an anti-bender revolt.
I'm not so sure that this sounds good... Steampunk-type movies rarely turn out well.

I do enjoy steampunk, and I think animated it will pull off just fine. I'm not holding my breath for any more movies though...if they're created I'll ignore them.

Yes, sorry if that was confusing from posting in the movie thread, but this is a new animated series done by the same group that was in charge of the first.

I just figured since we were discussing Avatar here there was no sense making a new thread. :3

I heard about this a week or so ago. I'm a little wary of it. Steampunk-ish stuff is awesome, but I generally hate 'continuation' stories like this. I trust the original Avatar creators though, so we'll see how it goes...but if the plot turns into "Zuko's grandkid plus Sokka's grandkid plus Katara's grandkid all find Korra and help her do her avatar thing" I'm going to throw a fit. The "Kids/grandkids of main characters" plot always screams FANFICTION!!!! to me.

Actually, I was talking about the Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe. I thought they did a horrible job on casting, especially for Lucy, who just seemed to stuck up in the movies, particularly when considering her light, playful and very young fun attitude in the books .

Hrm...it's been too long since I saw The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, so I can't say much on the casting. I remember when I went into the theater I was impressed, just because they didn't rewrite half the plot and stayed relatively true to the books. The parts they embellished (like the battle at the end) seemed well done without being over the top.

But again...it's been a while. By this point I'm only remembering my impressions, not the movie itself.

EDIT: Speaking of Avatar news and updates...has anybody heard of the Japanese dub of the cartoon? I found a few clips, it's actually pretty hilarious.

A trailer and

And a clip from a season 1 episode.

The English version will always be the best, but I can't help but be curious on how the Japanese versions will hold out, and if they'll deliver the lines in the same way and with the same feeling XD

I definitely know where you're coming from, but I feel very confident in the creators themselves. The biggest relief, for me, is that this will not feature the main characters from the original season. I figure if for some reason this sequel turns out poorly it has no affect on our love for the first one. It's a completely separate storyline for the most part. I'd be more apprehensive if they decided to continue on with the adventures of Aang and the Gang, and by doing so risk messing up the ending of the first series.

Oh, and regarding the Japanese version...I think I'd get a kick out of watching it. I know a lot of the language, and I'm a pretty big anime fan so I think just watching it like that would be hilarious and neat. :3

A sequel?!?!?!?!?!?! I am both excited and nervous at the same time (thank you Shyamalan for ruining hopes of any future Avatar endeavors). But, since this one will be created by the same people, perhaps it will be ok. As long as they are creating it for the right reasons (i.e. because their hearts are in it, not because of money), then it should turn out ok. :D I just hope the characters are as enjoyable as in the original.

Also, I was so looking forward to the creature that steals faces. D: Though I guess that would've been scary for the kiddies.
Screw that, they had Koh in the series and that was ANIMATED. It was clearly aimed at the kiddies, but they still added him in.
Sure, he was animated, but damn they wouldn't have to make him a "crap-your-pants" scary in the movie. :/

I am really looking forward to The Legend of Zelda Korra, won't lie. I admit, there are a few things I'm concerned about, such as how the series will play out if it's only set in one city, but the potentual for awesomeness that LoK has leaves me very hopeful.

Agreed. Distancing themselves from the first series was a wise decision. That said, I do hope that a couple of the plotholes left from the first series are addressed in some way. I demand that space sword turns up. :(
