New Worgen Model

With the latest beta patch came the new worgen look! All that really changed was the head, and at this time there are no more hairstyles. At the creation screen when you try to select hairstyles it actually changes the face structure as you now have two options: a properly fanged Worgen face or a gentler looking face that is similar to the old model. Any other attempts to select hairstyles will result in a headless model. o_O The muzzle has been worked down a bit to look more slender and wolflike than before. The ears are now set back against the head with no option to perk them forward like they used to be. All of the facial skins are selectable but the new heads seem to only be set to work with the first face, all the other face skins need to be redone before they'll "fit" the new shape properly. There's also a problem with the colors, the new face skins seem to only work properly with grey at the moment.

Something else in the files is a more complete looking beard + braid facial option, the one before it looked quite bad and unfinished. There is also an additional pair of cut up ears. Though they're there you can't actually use them at this time. Everything is still much in the works so perhaps they will bring hair back after some tweaking or brand new styles.

If you've found anything else, neat videos or poses or updates please share! :} I am really happy to see something that looks more like the original Worgen, as well as an option to go for something closer to the first style for those who preferred a tamer Worgen. I think a lot of the animations are in need of tweaking now, however, most especially the emotes. :\

The main reason I didn't want to roll a Worgen was due to their 'domesticated' appearance. I love the worgen from old Azeroth, like the ones in Shadowfang Keep, however the playable races didn't hold any of the ferocity that appealed to me.

With these new options I think I'll definitely make a male Worgen somewhere. I don't care for the females; even if they give them a viscous face I don't like their models in general, however the males are looking much more appealing.

This is great! Are they confirmed to be player-usable? I hope so, I'd hate to see them used for only NPC enemy Worgen.

Exactly! The female models don't look very good, and I don't think they'll be able to fix them. These new male models look much better.

Yep they're in the beta right now! There are players who have logged in to find that their character doesn't have a head. :p

I totally agree about the domesticated appearance, it made Worgen so disappointing no matter what excuse people would give to explain why they should look that way. I love how the original Worgen looked and seeing these new fangs is what makes me most happy. The fact that they restructured the head is only better as before they were looking a bit more cat-form inspired.

I really hope the females get redone as well, they've never hit any kind of Worgen note with me at all.

I really like the new worgen model, although part of me does miss the noble/domesticated appearence... A teeny tiny part of me anyway, I'd probably be a bit more upset if that second face wasn't perfect for my gentleman worgen warrior idea I've been playing around with. Just that perfect blend of nobility and savagery. Not that the toothed, very savage worgen doesn't rock out loud. He does. Much love to him too. Just hope the ladies get the same treatment too.

But from looking at it in the model viewer, there still seems to be a fair way to go yet. Only the two faces works thus far, and trying to change the hair style causes his head to disappear. His large mane also tends to clip his ear and his larger teeth can sometimes clip though his mouth.

I really hope what we're seeing is two different faces, as opposed to the NPC worgen and the PC worgen respectively. I would hate for that Big badass wolf look to just be reserved for the feral worgen NPCs.

(hmm, these guys are so bad ass, I may have to change my signature to a male worgen until the ladies can match it )

I get the impression that female worgen will be secondary on Blizzard's priority list, since at least with the males, they have some past models as examples.

If those turn out to be actual playable options when Cata comes out, I might just take my worgen past the starter zone as opposed to my current plan of just checking out the new worgen content and then going back to my orc. lol =)

Ew I don't like this new "model" for male Worgens. I hate that they made their eyes non-pupil. And those snarling fangs aren't cool either. Female Worgens are sadly cool. They need to "monstrify" female Worgens too. I don't like how skinny their arms are either (like twigs!). But Blizzard being Blizzard (of course!) I really, seriously doubt they'll really "go" for "monstrifying" female Worgens too now. But in the end, my Hunter's gonna be a female Worgen. 'Cause I'm a woman in real life. I'm really glad they, currently, have the option to switch back to the "older" Worgen "model". Oh is there any way I can play with the Worgen personalization features? Like any new WoW Model Viewers with Beta Worgens added into them? Thank you very much!

They're not perfect, but I prefer the general look of those to the bizarre, creepy things that the current female worgen are. I think they tried too hard to make the current ones look attractive, and it just comes off as really....odd. I would rather see them as more feral looking than a prettied-up furry.
