*spoiler*Tauren Starting Zone*spoiler*
Recorded by the CynicalBrit/TotalHalibut/TotalBiscuit is the revamped Tauren starting zone on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K9kFgI4FqY
So far like other starting zones this once tranquil zone has been changed from Deathwings emergence and taken on a fairly dark turn due to the presence of the quilboar that share the zone. If you're a big tauren fan you may be appalled at what the aggresive piglets have done to your beloved starting area, but it makes it more compelling also.

Yeah, it still looks like a giant pasture to me. *Chuckles* That's the only real downside to the tauren to me. I really do kinda feel like a giant cow in their starter zone.....

I hate them. I will have to go there and kill them. A lot.

I'm pretty sure she meant the pigmen.
Feel free to have ham though!

That just changes it to hot dogs. Or preferably chili dogs. Either way! Roast something!

The problem with Mulgore as a starter zone has always been it's sheer size so you spend an inordinate amount of time running back and forth across very drab plains getting harassed by annoying wolves, birds and cats.
It needs to be livened up to make it more tolerable and I didn't see much in that video that made it interesting.

Mulgore's a beautiful place aesthetically, but I can't remember the last time I actually quested there. I hate the questing itself. The grassy areas are just so packed with mobs you can't do anything without needing to kill 20 of them just to clear a path. And the running around seems to take forever, it's such a tall zone.

Re: *spoiler*Tauren Starting Zone*spoiler*
Which is sad, since the tauren have been my favorite race since WC3.

You do get to set some battle-boars ablaze in the redux.Anansi wrote:The problem with Mulgore as a starter zone has always been it's sheer size so you spend an inordinate amount of time running back and forth across very drab plains getting harassed by annoying wolves, birds and cats.

But besides that it is the size of the area and spacing of quest objectives that drags, or drug if things improve, this area zone. I mean look at the current orc/troll starting zone. One nice compact area where everything can be reached in a timely manner.
Re: *spoiler*Tauren Starting Zone*spoiler*
To be honest, the starting zone quest line seems much more streamlined than the current. And the quests are much more engaging too- I will be sad to see the old cow go, but, I can always avenge her death on my future pally cow and or priest cow.
The other thing is- The other zones? They have as much running. I've had dwarves, night elves, humans, draenei, blood elves, forsaken, orcs, trolls, etc, and tbh they all have the same amount of running and clearing mobs for the most part.
And oh god orcs have the worst quest anyways in Durotar.
Oh my boy he fought some Crocolisks, go and get me his necklace.
I killed 30 crocolisks once for the quest.
Thirty.
>_<

TBH no, just cause it's compact doesn't mean it's more efficient. It just gives you the illusion that you are running around less, than you really are.But besides that it is the size of the area and spacing of quest objectives that drags, or drug if things improve, this area zone.
